Frontman and lead singer for the entertainment group "Stevie Dream and the Power Team", Stephen Smith has had a major influence on his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. Born in the summer of 1987 on June 24th, Stephen grew up the second eldest child of four boys. His start in the music industry began when a fellow employee invited him to head a ragtag group, desperate to form a band. "The Oddity" rose quickly; their first show being in a movie theater, but soon playing in the largest church of the surrounding areas, Southeast Christian. Like many birthing bands, money grew scarce, and Stephen had to continue his third-shift career as a supervisor at UPS. Believing in an education, Stephen attends college at the University of Louisville, provoking his classmates to try and be tried during their educational life. Stephen is influenced by his cousin, Josh Hawkins, who led "The Hawk" to musical renowned across the U.S. east coast and parts of Europe. Stephen displayed his talents excelling in his short-lived careers, a few being model and garbageman. Previewing his path to stardom were his theatrical performances in Cole Porters "Anything Goes" and a Bill Byrne's "Livingroom Chronicles: An American Yesterday", where singing and dancing became second nature to the young renaissance man. Not only was he voted Most Unique by the student body of his highschool, but there he received Varsity letters in Cross-Country, Track and Academics. Stephen found his way on the senior homecoming court and was voted Prom King. He continues singing and entertaining everywhere he travels, and will be seen more in the public eye with his accomplishments. According to Parker Brothers Beyond Balderdash the definition of a whiskerino is "a beard growing contest." Participation in the North American Free Beard Agreement Whiskerino denotes that the participant will grow a beard. Refusal to grow a beard is not in the spirit of the contest. Note: Testerone levels differ in every male and all levels of growth, regardless of density and coverage, are encouraged. As long as the participant is not shaving the participant is growing a beard. In this spirit, Whiskerino.org is an online beard growing community/contest that runs from the 1st of November to the end of February every two years. During this time, trimming or shaping of hair growth is highly frowned upon. Participants are highly encouraged to let their beards follow their natural path. 'Sculpting' will be questioned and must be kept to a minimum. Participants unable to fulfill this time period will have their accounts placed within the Whiskerino Hall Of Shame. Participation is still highly encouraged for any amount of time during these dates. Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, Raj never had to keep his nose to the grindstone. His carefree and reckless lifestyle worries his parents. As a solution, Raj's mother gets him engaged to Simran Dia Mirza, who studies in Dubai. Simran too is the daughter of a rich NRI. A happy-go-lucky girl, Simran believes in taking life as it comes. Circumstances bring her face-to-face with Sameer Rakesh Bapat, an aspiring singer who comes to Dubai for entertainment shows. Sameer's charm, flamboyance and humor sweep Simran off her feet. She finds herself falling for him. Back home in Mumbai, Raj is drawn towards his kid sister Soni's female tutor Asha Neha, a simple girl with strong Indian values. He is sure Asha is the right girl for him. We know that Raj and Simran are engaged. But it turns out that Sameer and Asha too are engaged. It is a classic case of mismatches. So, Raj and Simran come up with an easy solution - create a rift between Sameer and Asha so that they can marry partners of their choice. Raj and Simran succeed. They part ways never to meet again. But, as pointed out in the beginning, love is a strange phenomenon. After their separation, Raj and Simran realize that deep down they love each other. What happens next? How do Raj and Simran meet again? These questions form the conclusion of the story. [1] |

If you want to make changes and try again, copy and paste your article into a new submission and make your changes there. A Knife Grinder is a profession that has been practiced since the first man learned to make tools. Early man used rocks to sharpen other rocks or sticks to make knives and spears. During the middle ages, knife grinders started using grinding wheels, large stones that rotate like a bicycle wheel, to sharpen and make swords, knifes and other bladed tools. Knife grinding is a less practiced proffession today and the stones are usually powered by electric instead of manpower.=== [edit] Sourcesno such information could be found but common knowledge of subject matter is prevelant. 68.119.248.219 03:14, 9 November 2007 (UTC) Articles for creation/2007-11-09

[edit] The Public University during the years of the markets’ absolute and unrestricted domination. Resistance and "undefended gates"
This request for creation has been declined. Please do not modify it. |
---|
This request for creation has been reviewed. The reviewer comments appear below the article text.
If you want to make changes and try again, copy and paste your article into a new submission and make your changes there. In the recent years of absolute and unrestricted market dominance, “competitiveness”, “innovation”, “entrepreneurship” and “free movement of capital and labor” – all heavily and skilfully advertised – prevail in the economic and "development" field. “Competitiveness” is deified as the only way to new employment opportunities and to “sustainable” (as meaninglessly defined) development. This happens in a world in which, at the dawn of the 21st century, 20% of the global population owned 86% of global wealth and in which inequality is increasing every day, while the pursuit of business “sustainability” through mergers, acquisitions and privatizations leaves thousands unemployed. “Innovation”, an end in itself, is hailed as the ultimate achievement of education, research and technology. Rather than being a public good of culture, education is limited to “effective” technical professional training toward multinational corporations’ profitability. “Entrepreneurship” is imposed and incised on the consciousness of the world’s youth, starting at the sensitive years of primary education, with the objective of creating a society made up, not of citizens, but of salesmen. “Free movement of capital and labor” and flexible forms of employment, together with Directives of the Bolkestein type, foreshadow a new dark age in the 21st century. At the European level, Ministers of Education transfer their responsibilities to Ministers of Competition. At the international level, OECD, the World Bank and World Trade Organization (WTO) fill the state governments’ strategy gaps with regard to education and impose policies promoting and selectively funding marketable products and training services in a leveled (as in the case of Europe), common University space. In the social field, the fundamental human rights to education, health and security – rights earned through great social struggles – are being systematically reduced through privatization. At the same time, social rights are still non-existent in the “developing world” – despite supposedly humanitarian aid – and in the city ghettos of the “developed” West. In the field of politics, equality, social rights, civil liberties, international law, national and public sovereignty are under constant threat by the sole military and economic superpower. They are “acknowledged” according to the superpower’s strategic interests and are being aligned with these interests through interventions, conquests, antiterrorist state terrorism etc. In the cultural field, the constantly increasing power of the mass media – as their entrepreneurs visibly or invisibly interact with the mechanisms of the ruling class at the social and economic levels – and the promotional bombardment with lifestyles, attitudes and behaviors which favor individualistic, competitive and consumption-based “development” models tend to level, homogenize and/or eradicate local cultures, which contain the fertile and creative wisdom of the interaction between nature and society in space and time. In the field of technology, market interests favor, lead, incite and confine research to the oneway paths of the information and informatics market (euphemistically referred to as “information society”, so as to provide a motive for academics who see the tree rather than the forest to place themselves at the market’s service). Telecommunications, mobile telephony providing the capacity to send and receive e-mail when… fishing underwater, MIT musical shoes, cheap laptops which will “reduce the digital gap” (between the ever wealthier North and the abused, ever poorer South) and energy are funded with priority or almost exclusively, while the WTO secures and defends the patents owned by multinational pharmaceutical, biotechnology, energy etc. corporations. In the field of environmental protection:
[edit] Public Character of UniversityIn 1997, the writer in the invited address to the 5th Panhellenic Conference on Socialism Issues “The University in the Emerging Society”, organized by the Department of Philosophy of the University of Ioannina in co-operation with the Municipality of Chania, wrote: “Today, the Public Character of the University is subject to external influences and definitions connected to the dominance of neoliberalism, the new order and globalisation, in a broader conflict between supporters of the ‘Public’ and of the ‘Private’. Market sovereignty supporters see the Public University as being ‘government-led’, ‘traditional’, ‘counterproductive’, ‘money consuming’, ‘problematic’ and ‘mismanaged’. They are convinced that its privatization – which they seek – contains all the goods of ‘less government’ – which they see as a cure for all: it will make the university ‘Modern’, it will give it ‘Mobility and Vitality’ through competition, secure ‘Meritocracy’, ‘Productivity’, ‘Economic Efficiency’ and, generally, an order, in conditions of perfect administration. On the other hand, some of us insist on seeing the University as a Public good and a vehicle for the provision of Integrated Knowledge to every citizen, irrespective of social and economic status, through an Education synonymous with Culture. For some among us, the Public University seems to be, in principle and in practice, the last refuge for resistance to the general decay of the modern world, and a living hope for a better world. It is so by safeguarding the freedom of education and research, the responsible, objective and pluralistic transfer of knowledge, the production of new knowledge through research, a continuous education for life and a solid, continuous and consistent social contribution to the integrated confrontation of today’s multidimensional and particularly complicated developmental and environmental issues. However, in order for us to be credible and efficient, we must not only proclaim this conviction but prove it, through our everyday practices in University and in society. For us, the Public Character of the University includes:
We could validly and effectively argue for the above, in contradiction with the views of every convinced supporter of the new order and the market’s monocracy, if:
Have we ever fully utilized the opportunities provided by Laws 1268/82 and 1403/83 toward full self-administration of our Higher Education Institutions? Have we utilized the institutional potential for credible social control of our aims and our directions, of our very work? Why have we so unscrupulously, with no mass protests and creative suggestions, compromised with the progressive degeneration of the National Council for Higher Education of Law 1268/82 to the informal meetings and “conciliations” of Rectors with the Minister, in the absence of students and social organizations? It would be one of the University’s greatest social contributions to make the Council overcome its inherent weaknesses and compose views toward the integrated social, economic, technical/technological and cultural development of our country, in harmony with the environment and the fundamental role of the University in this environment. Why have we accepted the abolition of the National Academy of Letters and Sciences, which, according to Law 1268/82 would secure a common, credible and objective evaluation of our contribution? Why have we accepted the lack of action toward the establishment of a common national list of Greek university teachers and researchers in the Diaspora, for the optimum support of the country’s development effort and the renewal of higher education teaching and research staff on the basis of merit and objectivity? Let us discuss these issues soberly, by creatively posing our arguments and let us assume our responsibilities, because it is only then, I believe, that we can substantially contribute to the development of a common, valid and efficient strategy which will secure, not only through us, but through society as well, the Public Character of the University”. Thus, we will seal the undefended gates and make our resistance credible and effective. [edit] SourcesAmin, S. (1977) Imperialism and Unequal Development (Harvester Press, Hassocs). Badlock, D. Clover and Ms. Sanders' second novel, Her Own Place, offer the experience of growing up in the rural South. Dori Sanders' Country Cooking offers the taste of growing up in the rural South detailing the family recipes and stories told at the peach stand. The eighth of 10 children, Ms. Sanders grew up on her family's peach farm in Filbert. Working on the farm has had a lasting impact on the writer. Writing is her way of passing down family history to the next generation. "I guess I started writing because I wanted to leave something for my nieces and nephews, as a way to tell them what life was like on the farm, because I know when my generation passes, this farm will pass out of our family," Ms. Sanders said. She received the Lillian Smith Award for Clover. It has been translated into numerous languages. Her Own Place is about a woman who buys a farm, works it, raises a family and moves to town. Protagonist, "Mae Lee represents all women who struggled after World War II, " Sanders said. Ms. Sanders recalls telling stories at a place known as the "storytelling rock". Dori and her sisters and brothers would gather there for hours sharing all sorts of stories. Those sessions at the rock led to the formal creation of her own published stories. The granddaughter of a freed slave, Ms. Sanders recently made an address at the 7th Annual Southern Foodways Symposium in Oxford, MS on the 40th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Her speech: Promise Land: A Farmer Remembers" tied family history, farming and the food we all share together. As Ms. Sanders said in her speech in October 2004 at the Symposium, "Food is universal. A must for survival. Food in its own way unites, it nourishes the body and soul." from wwwdorisanders.com the author's website [edit] Sources24.211.55.18 13:08, 9 November 2007 (UTC) Articles for creation/2007-11-09

If you want to make changes and try again, copy and paste your article into a new submission and make your changes there. Assemblyman Bob Beers represents District 21 in Clark County, Nevada. As a Republican, he quickly generated controversy when he came to the aid of Nevada's tip-earning workers when Casino Mogul Steve Wynn instituted a program confiscating 15% of his dealers' tips in violation of existing Nevada law. The controversy over Assemblyman Beers' bill, AB357 created an atmosphere that culminated in the first ever dealers union being formed on a strip property. What is unusual about this series of events is that typically the Democrat Party claims to be the party concerned with labor protections. Not one Democrat came forward to side with Beers in this fight. During a hearing on AB357, the vice president of the Las Vegas chapter of the NAACP stated an endorsement supporting Assemblyman Beers continuation as a Nevada legislator. Currently that is the only known endorsement of a white Republican by any NAACP chapter. Other issues Assemblyman Beers has taken up are the creation of an Armed Services club at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. Currently McCarran is the only airport of its size without such a facility. Again, Assemblyman Beers is the only Nevada Legislator who seems concerned about this issue. He has also dealt with an atempt to shut down the illegal massage parlors clustered throughout the Las Vegas/Henderson metroplex. Prostitution is illegal in Nevada's Clark County and Washoe County in the north. The other counties allow the practice through licensed brothels. There is mounting evidence that the storefront massage parlors front for human trafficking. Assemblyman Beers is currently working to create legislation that will help Nevada's law enforcemnt community deal with the problem. Because of his even-handed approach to legislation, Assemblyman Beers has been continuously attacked by members of the far right fringe, both Republican and Libertarian. The community newspaper, the Las Vegas Review Journal has stated that Assemblyman Bob Beers does not seem concerned with party purity but rather representation for everyone living in his district. He has developed a reputation for honesty, ethics and accessibility. His constituents seem to appreciate this approach to politics. |

Assisting Children with Cranial Remolding Helmets Children's Care Hospital & School is composed of a few branches including those in Sioux Falls and Rapid City. Rehabilitation Medical Supply, one of its subsidiaries, provides cranial remolding orthoses to its young patients who may have been born with mi-shapen heads. This condition, called Deformational Plagiocephaly, can cause problems for children as they get older and as their heads develop. These problems include ocular, auditory or temporal mandibular issues. The alignment of the ears, eyes, cheeks and jawbone are at risk if not treated soon enough. To treat children with this condition, a unique piece of equipment is used called the Star Scanner. By placing a young child in this scanner, much like a small baby bed, the head is scanned in less then 3 seconds to provide a 3-D view of the head for evaluation. When children are observed with deformities, a customer made orthotic helmet is made to help shape the head properly as the child develops. With a patient satisfaction rate of almost 100%, it is clear this new technology is here to stay and will only get better. It is a concept that evolved in my mind over a number of years but really fell into place around 18 months ago. I should first say that I have spent nearly all my career as a researcher. I was at MORI for nearly thirty years and in that time was responsible for hundreds of projects – projects to do with consumer and b2b marketing, ad tracking, corporate reputation, employee surveys, investor relations, social research, PR surveys and political opinion polls.
For Marketing Research, Research International has developed a standard called "BrandEnergy" (see. http://www.research-int.fr/brandenergy). |

Gingivere Greeneyes is the brother of the wildcat Tsarmina in the book Mossflower, by Brian Jacques. His father is Verdauga Greeneyes, and he is slightly smaller than his sister, Tsarmina. Gingivere stands up for Martin the Warrior in the fourth chapter of the book. He said that since Martin was a stranger, he shouldn't be executed because he broke the law, since he didn't know the law. Gingivere, later on in the book, joins forces with Bella of Brockhall, Sandingomm, and the other protagonists in the book. Gingivere is not killed, and survives to the end of the book. Brad became a professional surfer in 1984. One year later he beat world champion Tom Carrol at the Stubies Pro. Brad went on to climb the ranks and become one of the leading surfers of his time with a radical approach that affected both the style and charisma of the sport. He retired at No. 2 in the World in 1991. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y169/jaws.jpg Gerlach revived his role as one of the most recognizable athletes in surfing when he pursued a new passion for big waves with tow partner Mike Parsons. They became the first team to each individually win the Billabong XXL Award - Mike won the 2002 award with a 66 foot wave. Brad won the 2006 award with a 68 foot wave. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y169/BillabongXXL06GerlachRB_New.jpg The Gerr continues to chase big swell. Since his retirement from the contest circuit, invented a new format for competitive surfing called "The Game". Brad serves as the Commissioner of The National Surf League. Surfers in the NSL compete annually using the Game format which is hosted by Brad at the X-Games. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y169/gerlach.jpg [edit] Sources24.18.143.225 23:10, 9 November 2007 (UTC) Articles for creation/2007-11-09
