The Universidad de Ecatepec (UNE) or University of Ecatepec is a private university in Mexico founded in 1994 by Dr. Augustin Nunez (an IPN graduate). From its beginnings, UNE has expressed a strong support for entrepreneurship, social commitment and leadership development. It is one of the most important private universities in Mexico and Latin America. The UNE education model values entrepreneurship, knowledge, culture, resourcefulness and social consciousness. Part of their education redesign includes having certain courses taken on the weekends or around the students employment schedule. It also includes field work, professional practices, and social service in the private sector. Learning foreign languages is a must, especially English. The UNE's Extensive Language Center provides instruction in Italian, Portugese, French, Japanese, German. [edit] Educational ModelThe ITESM's educational model focuses on the students and their learning, for which students are held responsible; the professor plays the role of facilitator and guides the students in discovering knowledge, and its applications, on their own. In order to achieve these objectives, the educational model emphasizes collaborative work and uses didactic techniques such as problem-based learning, project-oriented learning, and the case-solving method. In this way, knowledge is applied to solving real life problems, making studying meaningful and becoming the object of critical reflection and social commitment. The educational model includes numerous processes which are enhanced by the use of information technologies and telecommunications. The students use their computers to do homework, fulfill their learning objectives and interact with their classmates and professors, which favors the students’ active participation, encourages responsibility, facilitates internationalization and forms authentic learning communities. Collaborative activities are commonly held amongst the courses, where pupils must all work together to achieve common knowledge, where the teacher is a guide. The symposia and seminars in diverse academic disciplines which take place every semester allow students to learn the latest tendencies in contemporary thought, science, and technology. These activities, which are a very important part of academic life, help the students develop their teamwork and leadership skills. [edit] OrganizationIt consists of academic departments rather than faculties. Both undergraduate and graduate studies are available. The academic departments at the UNE for undergraduate level are:

[edit] Elton Bennett

This request for creation has been reviewed. The reviewer comments appear below the article text.
[edit] StyleBennett chose to produce prints because of his belief that original art should be accessible to everyone. Prints allowed him to produce many copies at relatively affordable prices. Despite the fact that his prints now sell for hundreds or thousands of dollars, according to his daughter during his lifetime he never sold one for more than $25. Using silkscreens allowed him to vary the work by changing the colors as recombining or reusing elements to the point where a work was never finished - he could always tinker with it some more. For example, a catalog of his artwork might include multiple images of a print such as "Around the Cape" using different color pallets, such as blues, gold, greens, etc. While the same middle-background sailing ship appears in versions of "Down to the Sea" and "Distant Shore". [edit] SubjectsThe coast of the pacific northwest, the sea, ships, and landscapes that Bennett grew up with and worked among were his primary subjects. People are relatively rare, and almost never the main subject, appearing as silhouettes on shore or on a ship. Often the rain and weather of the north pacific coast are nearly as prominent as the main subject. These elements often contribute to a loneliness in the images. The subjects also very much reflect the technology of the early period of his life. Tall Ships, steam ships and old pulp mills are often featured in his prints. Sometimes the transition in technology is represented, as with the steam tug-boat pulling the sailing ship in "Down to the Sea" or the inboard-powered fishing boat passing the schooner going the opposite direction in "Journey into Silence". If you want to make changes and try again, copy and paste your article into a new submission and make your changes there. BASIC INFORMATION The Little Mermaid 3 is a new disney movie that is due for completion in 2008. It involves the original 3 main characters of interest Ariel "The Mermaid", Flounder "The Guppy Fish" and Sebastion "The Jimacan Crab".Disney is scared though that its box office ratings will not be as high with their recent "Extremely Low" film ratings in the past 2 years as their film "No Offence have been dodgy". REVEALED PLOTS But this chick flick is said to suprise everyone with it's new jazzy and caborei type music and its upbeat style and rythem throughout the film. The main problem is that its "x" rated content of Ariel getting overweight and getting knocked up reguarly is scaring Disney film makers so its storyline will probally be changed before its release in late 08. MORE INFORMATION SOON more information will be available soon on this new Disney movie. CIDRAP's primary mission[2] is to
In furtherance of its mission, CIDRAP collects scientific peer-reviewed papers on issues such as the possibility and prevention of an emergent influenza pandemic. It distributes an extensive information collection freely on the internet and otherwise, both with full-text reporting of scientists' study results and by providing scholarly reviews of the state of human knowledge on salient public health issues, on a free, no-registration basis. The goal is not only educational, but to provide effective coordination of scientific investigation and use of scientific insights to more effectively prepare and coordinate strategies for countering emerging threats to public health. The topics covered in CIDRAP's authoritative distribution and summation of peer-reviewed research is broad.[3] Especially salient topics include seasonal influenza, influenza vaccines, avian flu, pandemic flu, and pandemic business planning. Emerging diseases covered in depth include SARS, West Nile virus, monkeypox, BSE, Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, and foodborne illness. Biosecurity topics relating to agriculture, food safety, and food irradiation are addressed. Information is also included germane to mitigating possible bioterrorism based on pandemic influenza, anthrax, botulism, plague, smallpox, tularemia, or viral hemorrhagic fever (VHF). CIDRAP also addresses defense against other selected health threats such as chemical terrorism. The nonprofit CIDRAP is donor-supported through generous grants from a number of charitable foundations.[4] CIDRAP also receives fees for health information services to clients in private industry to supplement the donated funds financing its nonprofit public health activities.[5] |

Portuguese title of nobility bestowed by King Carlos I of Portugal in 1890 in favour of Carlos Eugénio Corrêa da Silva (1834-1905), 1st Viscount of Paço de Arcos (commonly spelled Paço d'Arcos). He married Emília Angélica de Castro Monteiro, granddaughter of the Counts of Castro, and had issue. The titles of Count and Viscount of Paço d'Arcos are associated with the Corrêa da Silva family of Portugal. [edit] Colonial and Diplomatic CareerThe 1stCount of Paço d'Arcos had a notable colonial career throughout the Portuguese Empire, having reached its pinnacle as Governor-General of Portuguese India (1881). He was also Governor-General of Macao, Portuguese Timor (1876) and Mozambique (1880), as well as Portugal´s first Ambassador to Brazil (1891-1893) after the former colony abolished the monarchy and sent Emperor Pedro II of the House of Bragança into exile. This prestigious diplomatic post was fraught with difficulties as he represented to the new Brazilian republican government the reigning Portuguese House of Bragança which their ousted Emperor belonged to. In his diplomatic career he was also Minister Plenipotentiary to China, Japan and the Kingdom of Siam. [edit] Naval CareerThe Count of Paço d'Arcos excelled in school from an early age, having attended the School for Nobles (Colégio dos Nobres) and later enrolled in the Portuguese Naval Academy (Escola Naval) at the tender age of 14, for which royal permission was needed. At 18 the young ensign had his first experience under fire having been given his first command of the schooner Venus whose mission was to apprehend the pirate Apack in the South China Sea. As a young second lieutenant he was appointed Knight of the Military Order of the Tower and Sword (Ordem Militar da Torre e Espada), Portugal´s highest decoration awarded for bravery in combat, for his heroics in pursuing and capturing the Spanish slave ship Virgen del Refugio off the coast of Portuguese Guinea in 1864. As a 27 year old second lieutenant in 1862 the Count of Paço d'Arcos also commanded the schooner Napier in pursuit of the US confederate pirate ship CSS Alabama in the mid Atlantic near the Azores. He held many other commands, including the brig Pedro Nunes as first lieutenant, which had been King Luis I's personal command before accession to the throne. His appointment was a personal decision of the King with whom he shared a passion for the sea and later a close friendship. Usually such a prestigious command was held by someone of much higher rank and his appointment was proof of the King's confidence in his abilities as a leader of men. He later commanded the gunboat Zarco and the corvettes Sagres and Estefânia, eventually rising to the top of his career as a naval officer in the Portuguese Royal Navy, having achieved the rank of Vice-Admiral (1895) and Major-General of the Armada (the highest rank of the Portuguese Royal Navy) before his retirement one year prior to his death. [edit] Civil Governor of LisbonAs Governor of Lisbon in 1890 the Count of Paço d'Arcos was responsible for ordering the controversial police crackdown after days of rioting followed the issuing of the British Ultimatum regarding Portuguese colonies in Africa. The republican underground in Portugal seized the opportunity of the humiliating British Ultimatum to blame the monarchy and the King for Portugal´s loss of prestige. After news of the Ultimatum and Portugal´s concessions in Africa (present day Zimbabwe) reached the Portuguese people, Lisbon was thrown into a state of turmoil following massive rioting which threatened to bring down the regime. This was perhaps the first sign of the what was to come when 18 years later King Carlos I and the Prince Royal Luis Fílipe were assassinated by members of the jacobin Carbonária in downtown Lisbon on February 1st 1908, eventually leading to the republican revolution of October 5th 1910. The Count of Paço d'Arcos, in his role as Governor and commander of the police in Lisbon, issued the order to repress the riots which led to his vilification by the republican press of the time. [edit] Other Achievements and DistinctionsThe Count of Paço d'Arcos was also a member of His Majesty's Council (do Conselho de Sua Majestade Fidelíssima), the Chamber of Deputies (Câmara dos Deputados) and a Peer of the Realm (Par do Reino) as well as Aide-de-Camp to the King (Ajudante de Campo d'el rei).
Because of his service to the Crown, the viscount of Paço d'Arcos was promoted in the Portuguese nobility to a Grandee of Portugal (Grande de Portugal) when King Carlos I elevated his title to a Countship (Earl in Britain). His only son Henrique was, like his father, a distinguished naval officer and colonialist but, unlike his father, also a republican. Because of his beliefs and because of the republican revolution implanted by force of arms in 1910, he never claimed officially (encartar) the title of Count of Paço d'Arcos which nonetheless passed on to his eldest surviving son also named Henrique. Church, a white steamship owner from Virginia, and Emmeline, his house servant. Although Captain Church never officially acknowledged his son, he educated him in the intricacies of of the riverboat business [6]. After the onset of the Civil War, Church left the riverboat business to sesttle permanently in Memphis, a move that would prove fateful for both Church and the city. In a few short years Church opened a bar and a billiard hall, and married Louisa "Lou" Ayrers in 1863 [7]. They soon had a daughter, Mary, then a son. The end of the Civil War provided more opportunities for the enterprising Church, who constantly sought to expand his business empire. In the late 1870s he finally got the break he was looking for. The outbreak of a yellow fever epidemic in Memphis in 1878-79 allowed Church to buy large amounts of significantly undervalued land from owners desperate to sell at any price. His purchases included a variety of properties, from undeveloped space to commercial buildings in the red light district. When Memphis was finally ready to rebuild in the 1890s, Church was perfectly poised to use his newfound status as a way to improve the situation of the African American community in Memphis, which was subject to violence and discrimination. In 1899, Church opened "Church's Park and Auditorium," intended to serve as a center for recreational activities that were normally unavailable to African Americans[8]. By 1906, Church, along with 18 other African American community leaders, opened the Solvent Savings Bank, the first institution of its kind created solely for African Americans. Church died a mere six years later, and unfortunately his bank eventually went bankrupt, but it represented an important step forward in the development of entrepreneurship in the "New South." Church was an influential African American captialist, practicing the same ideals advocated by Booker T. Washington at the time, including investment, frugality and industry [9]. Without his efforts, the African American commnity of Memphis may not have been able to recover from the unfortunate events of the latter half of the 19th century. It has been tested with engines as big as D. The Nocka Rocket was invented by Andrew Nocka, and consists of tin foil with the estes brand engine. Building a Nocka Rocket is quite simple. One must find a cylinder the size of or slightly bigger than the engine they wish to use. Then one must wrap tin foil around the cylinder several times, enough to keep its shape but stay light. Then the engine must be put in the bottom, and the top must be squeezed together to form a natural nose cone. Fins can be added if wanted but are not needed as Nocka Rockets tend to spin around out of control. In my personal experience, every Nocka Rocket I have launched has not been launched again. The nocka rocket can be launched from an estes brand launchpad if a straw is attatched to the side of the rocket. It can be launched from many other apparatuses such as chairs and PVC piping.
