eDreams, with headquarters in Barcelona and offices in Spain and Italy, is a supplier of a wide range of travel-related products and services, such as flights, hotels and package tours, through the following websites: eDreams Spain, eDreams Italy, eDreams Portugal, eDreams in English and eDreams France. These services are purchased through the company's search engines and online booking system, or contacting their customer service helpdesk.
eDreams is also a provider of full online marketing and advertising services, working as a platform to advertising campaigns for both direct corporative clients and media agencies.

eDreams was founded in March 1999 in Silicon Valley by the Spanish Javier Pérez-Tenessa and the American James Hare, and with the support of European and American financial groups such as DCM-Doll Capital Management, Apax Partners, Atlas Venture, 3i Group, amongst others.
In October 2006, TA Associates, a private equity company that operates in the US and Europe, acquired eDreams for 153 million Euro. This transaction was the first LBO (leveraged buy-out) in the history of the Internet in South Europe. TA Associates, founded en 1968, is one of the most important and experienced private equity companies worldwide.
Milestones in the history of eDreams:
In 2000, eDreams' business was launched in [[Spain] and Italy. Four months after the start of operations, the company had placed itself within the top ten European companies focused on "B2C" (Business to Consumer) and had reached the 26th position in the rank of 100 best European e-commerce companies (data published in The Sunday Times and KPMG, 2000).
In March 2003, eDreams acquired the Italian company www.travelonline.it and became the leading online travel agency in Italy.
Today, eDreams holds the first position in the audience rank for the online travel sector according to Nielsen//NetRatings, and leads the list of flight sales in Spain and Italy.
The company's 2006 end-of-year results had a turnover of 300 million Euro and a 31.5% market share in the online travel sector (tickets sold by December 2006).
Over six million customers have already purchased their accommodation, flight tickets and package tours through eDreams since the company's start of business.
