Normal approximation is used to determine if a sample survey can be approximated using a normal curve (bell curve). Statisticians have determined thatwhen both np is more than or equal to 10 and n(p-1) is more than or equal to 10 then a normal approximation may be made.

In 1997 Joseph Farah and James H. Smith founded the Western Journalism Center. The Center is the non-profit parent company of WorldNetDaily and has funded conservative causes.[1]
The Center helped fund Christopher Ruddy (of NewsMax) to investigate conspiracies surrounding the death of Vincent Foster, which was part of the Arkansas Project.[[2]] Eventually, "the Center placed some 50 ads reprinting Ruddy's Pittsburgh Tribune-Review stories in the Washington Times, then repackaged the articles as a packet titled "The Ruddy Investigation," which sold for $12." Also "Farah also bought full page ads publicizing Christopher Ruddy's allegations that appeared in papers including The New York Times, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, and Los Angeles Times" and "the ad campaign brought in over $500,000, half from individual donors-many of whom bought Foster conspiracy materials-and half from foundations, including $100,000 from Carthage." [3] Later on "WJC circulated a video featuring Ruddy's claims, "Unanswered-The Death of Vincent Foster," that was produced by ultra-conservative James Davidson, chairman of the National Taxpayers Union (NTU) and co-editor of the Strategic Investment newsletter." In 1998, the Center sued the IRS for 20 million dollars claiming "officials and former officials of the White House and Internal Revenue Service" conducted "a 1996 audit of the group" for "politically motivated" reasons.[5] The lawsuit was thrown out and the appeals were denied.[www.freerepublic.com/forum/a3a41bbdd3936.htm]

Herring's law of equal innervation is used to explain the conjugacy of eye movements (saccades) in stereopic animals. The law which was proposed by Herring in the 19th century proposes that conjugacy of saccades (eye movements) is due to innate connections in which the eye muscles resposnible for each eye's movements are innervated equally.
This theory is in contrast to the theory proposed by Von Helmholtz (1911) which states that conjugacy is a learned, cooridinated response and that the movements of the eyes are individually controlled

Robert Morey is a career fundamentalist Christian minister currently based in Irvine, CA and the author of 33 books. Morey received a Ph.D in Islamic Studies from the unaccredited Louisiana Baptist University in 2003[7]. His Faith Defenders ministry created the unaccredited California Biblical University and Seminary, which exists in the same faciltiies as the church.[8][9] Prior to this Morey was a minister for the Truth Seekers in Newport, Pennsylvania and in the 1980s New Life Bible Church in central Pennsylvania. Recently, Morey had made national news with claims that Pakistanis terrorists “smuggled 'dirty bomb' into U.S. from Canada.” [10]
There has been much debate about Morey’s credentials. While Morey received his degree from LBU in 2003 he has maintained the title of Dr. before this date. For example in 1997 [11] and he told the Assist News Service he “began researching Islam when he was a pastor at New Life Bible Church in central Pennsylvania during the 1980s. His research earned him a doctorate.”[www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/649859/posts] This was due in part to his claim of a honorary Doctorate in Divinity from Faith Theological Seminary (FTS) Gujranwala.[12] In 1997, FTS announced “The FTS Board of Directors said that Robert Morey was not on graduation list of FTS in year 1996 nor the FTS was aware of awarding DD degree to Dr. Morey.”[13] Furthermore it was noted, “Therefore any degree awarded to any one that is not awarded in the month of March from Gujranwala Pakistan is forged, fake, illegal and fraud and Robert Morey stands guilty of all the charges that are mentioned above.”[14] He also claims his books “have been translated into Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Italian, Finnish, Chinese, Norwegian, Swedish and Polish.”[15] There is no evidence of this though.
While he is described as an “expert” [www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/649859/posts] citing his doctorate prior to his degree completion from LBU, many critics have been deplored at his scholarship. For example, Morey asserted that Allaah was the Moon-god. [16] Yet, is was reported that Morey misquoted another scholar to make that assertion.[17] His harshes critics have dubbed him an “academic fraud.”[18]

Denis G. Pelli, son of architect Caesar Pelli, is a well-known vision scientist, whose work focuses on object recognition and perception. After receiving his BA in 1975 from Harvard University, he studied at Cambridge with Campbell and Robson, terminating in his reception of a PhD in Physiology. Later, he completed a postdoc at the University of Minneapolis, a professorship at Syracuse University, and a sabbatical at NASA Ames, where he worked on the visual requirements of reading and mobility, and on characterizing the limits of visual perception.
Since 1995, Pelli has been a Professor of Psychology and Neural Science at New York University, studying letter and object recognition.
Pelli is credited with over 60 publications and tools, many of which haveinfluential in the field of vision research, including: the Pelli-Robson Contrast Sensitivity Chart, the QUEST sequential estimation procedure, and the psychtoolbox (a MATLAB extension).
Optical Society of America Leadership Award/New Focus Prize, 2000: “Through leadership in visual science, Dr. Pelli has benefited artists, scholars and the visually impaired. His work has made significant contributions that have transcended both interdisciplinary and international boundaries.”

[edit] Indonesian coffee
Indonesia is currently the fourth largest producer of coffee in the world. Coffee has a colourful history, and has played an important part in the growth of the country. Indonesia is blessed with an ideal geography for coffee growing. The longitude ad latitude of the country means that the island origins are all well suited micro-climates for the growth and production of coffee. In early days the prominent coffee under Dutch rule was Arabica. The coffee was introduced to the archipeligo via Ceylon (modern day Sri Lanka). The Dutch Colonial Government initially planted coffee round Batavia (Jakarta), and as far south as Sukabumi and Bogor. Coffee plantations were also established in East Java, Central Java, West Java and in parts of Sumatra and Sulewesi. Around the turn of the century the Arabica crops were devestated by Coffee Rust, wipping out the bulk of the Dutch root-stocks. Coffee at the time was also grown in East Indonesia- East Timor and Flores. Both these Islands were originally under Portuguese control- the coffee was also Arabica but from diferent root stocks. The coffee in Eastern Indonesia was not effected to the same degree by rust, and still today some coffee in East Timor can be traced back to the 16th and 17th century.
The Dutch responded to rust by importing and planting Liberica coffee. This variety had a short lived poplularity and was also affected by disease. The Liberica cherry can still be found through out Java, but is seldom used as a commercial crop in Indonesia. The Liberica coffee bean is much larger than either Arabica or the Robusta cherry- however it shares more in commn cupping wise with Robusta.
Robusta replaced Liberica and is still the stock crop today. It is not the coffee Indonesia is famous for, but makes up some 88% of exports from the country.

Leukaemia Research (LRF) is the UK's only blood cancer charity that fund resaearch into leukaemia, Hodgkin's lymphoma and other lymphomas, myeloma and the related blood disorders.
The charity was founded at a local level in 1960 after a mother lost her child to leukaemia and felt that no one else should have to go through the same. Rapidly more branches of the charity form across the UK , leading to the creation of the national charity. Today over 160 voluntary branches exist across the UK, fundraising to help fund research into the blood cancers diagnosed in 24,500 people in the UK every year.
Leukaemia Research supports doctors and scientists within hospitals and academic institutions throughout the country to work on a wide range of projects from basic laboratory research through to clinical trials in patients. The charity spends about £20million each year on its research programme.
The charity has some well-known celebrities supporting the cause including ex-England cricket hero Ian Botham, BBC's Match of the Day's Gary Lineker, the Calendar Girls, ex-spin Labour doctor Alastair Campbell and former world 10,000m champion runner Liz McColgan.

This technic is also used in another communication language, without drums, called ekiga, wich consists in reproducing the notes, without words, emitting the syllable "ke" in a falsetto voice, and repeating it with the corresponding tones.
The ekiga was used to communicate quickly when no drums were available.

Ian Frodsham was one of Liverpool FC's youngest players. He joined the club as an under-11, from Brookfield School in Kirkby. He signed his professional contract at 17, and played regularly with the Liverpool reserves. He died at age 19 from a spinal tumour. Liverpool Football Academy's indoor arena is named after him, and the club's young player of the year award is named the Ian Frodsham Memorial Award.

A letter is an element of a writing system. Writing systems including alphabets, abjads, abugidas and syllabaries are composed of sets of letters. As components of writing systems, letters are associated with symbols - also called signs, characters, graphemes, glyphs and letterforms.
As symbols that denote segmental speech, letters are associated with phonetics. In a purely phonemic alphabet, a single phoneme is denoted by a single letter, but in history and practice letters often denote more than one phoneme. Also, letters may be grouped in twos or threes, called digraphs and trigraphs, to designate specific phonemes. Examples of digraphs in English include ch, sh and th.
Letters may also have numerical value. This is true of Roman numerals and the letters of other writing systems. In English Arabic numerals are typically used instead of letters.
Letters also have specific names associated with them. These names may differ with language and dialect.
