Does the page already exist?

Before you begin writing, make sure that Wikipedia does not already have an article about your subject.

Search for your article below, making sure to check other possible spellings and capitalizations, then come back to this page.

If you find that the subject searched for already exists under a different name, consider adding "redirects" from plausible alternate titles to the correct title, so that others searching for the article will find it more easily. See Wikipedia:Redirect to learn how to do this. Please do not create a new article on a subject which already exists under another name.

Writing about companies General information

Articles on companies are an important part of Wikipedia, but present unique challenges. In particular, companies put effort into presenting an image that is good for their business. Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy states that articles must present a neutral and truthful picture, without being biased toward or against the subject.

  • If you want to write about a company you own or work for, please see our conflict of interest guidelines first.
  • Articles must not be written with the intention of promoting the company.
  • External links should be kept to a minimum. Ideally just one link to the company's main website, or main English site if it is an international company.
  • These are the basics, but to get in touch with others who are interested in writing about businesses and find out more helpful tips, see the WikiProject on companies.

  • Check your sources. All Wikipedia articles should be written based on reliable sources and those sources should be listed in the article.
  • Check your facts. Make sure everything is correct and you have information to provide adequate context to all potential readers.
