Definition: Neosurrealism or new fantasy dream art
Definition: Neosurrealism is the term that has been given to the reappearance of the famous surrealism movement in the late 1970s. Initially, the movement focused on relating surrealism with pop-art, but lately modern artists have been exploring other directions within the present movement. For a long time Neosurrealism was called modern surrealism due to a noticeable visual similarity of this two movements. However, the main difference between these two styles is that Neosurrealism does not have the original idea of rational control freedom or psychic automatism declared by André Breton, in his Manifeste du surréalisme. Neosurrealism is a combined imagery of dreams and fantasies or subconscious mind visions in fine art painting, digital art graphic, and photography. Modern computer technologies brought tons of additional depicting power to contemporary artists. Neosurrealism does not have a particular founder or group. The movement is still not clearly defined, but it develops rapidly adding more professional and armature art enthusiasts every day. There are thousands contemporary artists, digital and traditional fine art media, who create neo-surrealistic, surreal fantasy, and fantasy realism artworks comparable to Neosurrealism.

The result of his endeavors during his relatively short career has brought a considerable measure of success with his last several shows in London. Stockholm and Helsinki. Grie's paintings are concerned with the portrayal of strong and powerful images relying on visual impact. They are about capturing visual paradoxes, sometimes they depict calm and contemplative moments, solitude, and sometimes melancholy. There is a stillness in his themes which conveys a sense of inner-reflection. Grie's use of distinction technique gives a stark contrast between the light source and the often dark tonality found in his paintings.
One of them is George Grie. George Grie was born in May 14, 1962. He graduated from the State University in 1985 with a BA (Honors) Degree in Fine Art Education. From the onset of his professional career, the traditional routes of domestic art adopted by many of his peers was not an option. He chose instead to follow the more difficult and demanding path of surrealistic painting wherein clear, concise yardsticks of competence, draughtsmanship and painterly skills can be measured and judged warts and all.
