Article marketing can be very effective in lead generation, however most people associate it with ezine publishing. There are a number of distribution channels available, and ezines is the least effective in terms of generating quality leads.
Problems with ezine publishing: 1. numbers - author needs at least 20 - 30 articles before seeing any traffic 2. country - it's hard to target a specific country, most ezines are US based 3. quantity over quality - most articles on ezines sites are low quality and poorly written
In terms of getting result, targeting specific newsletter groups, blogs and publications will generate much greater return.
With article marketing, it's very important to include a call-to-action instead of an author bio. My result improved 300% just by doing that.
