[edit] Good article nomination on hold

This article's Good Article promotion has been put on hold. During review, some issues were discovered that can be resolved without a major re-write. This is how the article, as of July 18, 2007, compares against the six good article criteria:

1. Well written?: Very much so, a comprehensive and verbose account. However, the lead is three times longer than some leads in featured articles, while only two paragraphs, they're overly detailed and I think they need to be trimmed down quite a bit.
2. Factually accurate?: Perry, Benaud, Wisden? Yep.
3. Broad in coverage?: Indeed.
4. Neutral point of view?: Very much so.
5. Article stability? No reason to doubt the stability of the article whatsoever.
6. Images?: All fine.

Please address these matters soon and then leave a note here showing how they have been resolved and please let me know if you'd like me to review again when the various changes have been made. The Rambling Man 18:25, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

I've pruned the lead by about 10%. Hopefully the lead isn't too much of a big deal. Many FAs have leads of a similar and somewhat large size. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 01:46, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, it's not a big deal, it was just something that stood out, and you've pruned it sufficiently I think. It's a good basis for a WP:FA to be honest, so promoting it now to WP:GA is no big deal either! The Rambling Man 08:20, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
