As noted in the edit summary, i've been trying to find the Gazette for his OBE, but without some idea of when it was awarded, it's a bit needle in hay-stack. I did however find a Gazette noting his appointment as a Deputy Lieutenant, which also gave a nice long string of postnomials. There are also these two other Gazette entries: [1][2] which suggest he was also awarded the DFC at some point - since there's only one Merriman listed as holding a GC (I also found a few entries for another Arthur D Merriman, who was a Royal Navy engineer officer). There's also this Gazette [3] which suggests WWI service in the Royal Army Ordnance Corps which would fit age-wise. All this is verging on Original Research of course. If we could find an obit, it might help. David Underdown (talk) 11:16, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

Well for better or worse I've integrated this into the article now, since I found the OBE gazette. David Underdown (talk) 13:21, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
Looks good, it is all cited as far as I can see. I don't see any WP:OR or WP:SYN in there, just researched material. Well done!! Thanks for all your hard work, it is good to see how some "speedied" articles can be retained. :) Woodym555 (talk) 15:33, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
