Names
Anyone know the names of the garbage man's daughter and her rich girlfriend? Is it Muffy? --Ed
- THe rich girl is Muffy Crosswire. The garbage man is Mr. Frensky, and his daughter is Francine.
Perky's Owner
Name of Perky's owner Mrs??? --Maoririder 20:25, 16 November 2005 (UTC)
- Mrs. Wood according to ECDC. RAMChYLD 10:18, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
Muffy Crosswire orangutan?
Is that a misprint? I thought she was just a normal girl. Are all the Arthur characters animals? --Contrib 17:43, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Yes, all the characters on "Arthur" are animals. While the original books showed an occasional human, humans usually aren't seen in the television series (except the "Postcards From Buster" spinoff and maybe in Arthur's daydream about Martin Luther King and Einstein in the Christmas special)... Anthony Dean 18:49, Apr 25, 2005 (UTC)
So Muffy is really a orangutan? --Contrib 18:53, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Guess so. :-) Anthony Dean 00:04, Apr 26, 2005 (UTC)
- The answer is pretty much found here: [1]
- What kind of animal is Arthur? What about his friends?
- The Brain is a bear. Binky Barnes is a burly bulldog. (Try saying that three times fast!) Muffy and Francine are both monkeys and Buster is a rabbit. Sue Ellen is a cat, Prunella is a rat, Fern is a dog and George is a moose. The Tibble Twins are bear cubs and, of course, the Read family appear at the front of the animal dictionary. They're aardvarks. RAMChYLD 05:04, 18 December 2005 (UTC)
- And Mr. Ratburn is of course, a rat. The Brain is a bear and so is Mr. Haney. Offhand, I believe Francine is also a monkey, although I could be wrong. Most of the time, the species types are not referred to on the show. It usually only happens with Buster. Agent0042 22:18 29 December 2005 (EST)
Matalii ja mustii
Is it worth noting that Finnish folk musicians Värttinä make an appearence in the episode "Meet Binky"?
- For reference, the song used is "Matalii ja mustii" from their album Seleniko; which is noted on that page. --Mairi 00:01, 7 August 2005 (UTC)
Characters
What is Fern, Gena, Prunella, Sue Ellen, or any other characters you can think and could you say what type of animal that they are? I might also be good if they could fit in the "Arthur" article some how. --Contrib 18:56, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)==Brain celebrats Kwanzaa?== Brain celebrates Kwanzaa and George the moose celebrates the feast of Santa Lucia. Prunella, I am pretty sure, is a rat.
The Brain
When was The Brain's real name said? When is Powers said? --Contrib 18:58, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- He's referred to as Alan a LOT by his parents, and his surname Powers is mentioned at least once by his teacher.
Names of other characters?
What're the names of Arthur's neighbours, the mexican family in the series?
they're the Molinas, and they're not mexican they are from ecuador
- I don't think the parents names are mentioned in the show. But, the 13-year-old boy is named Alberto and the "3 7/8"-year-old is named Vecita. Please sign your user name and date from now on. Fishhead 23:06, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
You're a REAL fishhead, Fishhead. Some people don't have user names. Including me.
Character?
When Francine has to meet the new neighbor what is the women's name? --Maoririder 18:12, 27 July 2005 (UTC) The furniture movers I think are ducks who is right? Ducks or Platapi? --Maoririder 18:19, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
Her name is Mrs. Perrazo or something close to that.
Captioning inconsistencies
"*In D.W Goes to Washington, all traces of "It's like a dream come true." is simply "It is wonderful" in closed captions. "
Arthur is broadcasted in the US with two caption tracks according to WGBH [2]. There's a standard captioning track, and a simplified caption track for younger audiences who're just starting to learn how to read or have trouble figuring out what is being said. You sure your captioning settings are set correctly?
- Also, I removed Prunella's last name from her entry - as far as I know it, it was never mentioned on the show. It's probably put there by a delusional troll.
- Also added "Emil" to Ratburn's name, attributed to an inconsistency in one of the episodes (it was mentioned in Arthur's daydream in one of the episodes I believe).

Disputed tag?
I came across the disputed tag on this page and I am confused. Who is the dispute between here? ESkog | Talk 21:51, 16 November 2005 (UTC)
Gena allergic to milk? Maoririder 16:48, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
Yes she has milk allergy. It is revield when Binky finds out he has a peanut allergy. Gena decides to help him because she has a simalar problem.
francine's grandpa
Francine's grandpa lives with them?? i thought he just came to visit once...=S
- Probably trash thrown in by trolls. Removed. RAMChYLD 05:12, 18 December 2005 (UTC)
The Simpsons
The Simpsons article makes mention that 'Arthur' is a TV show particularly noted and criticised for lifting its storylines from the Simpsons. I came to this article, interested to learn more but found nothing on the topic. Could someone in the know perhaps make a section for this? I'm pretty sure that at least some of the traffic to this article is coming to learn about this link/criticism. MagicBez 16:11, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
Arthur often borrows plots and lines from pop culture and other TV shows, such as the Hitchhiker's Guide, South Park, and the Sopranos to name a few.
Molly's last name
As far as I know, it was never mentioned on the show. So I removed it from the list. RAMChYLD 10:21, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
- Nevermind, putting it back in. Discussed it with a few members at the Arthur group. RAMChYLD 08:56, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
Hey! April doesn't exist. She is never mentioned at all. So don't put that name back.
- I didn't put April back, only Molly's last name. RAMChYLD 02:09, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
April dispute
April i think is real look closely when you watch the show and you will see a rabbit girl --Jingofetts 19:40, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
- But her name was never mentioned. That means April is not her real name. Also, the entire Arthur group totally disputed the existance of such an character [3]. There is a rabbit girl in background, but her name is unknown. Please keep to the canon of the show or books. RAMChYLD 03:30, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
I believe their is a rabbit girl in the arthur tv show. --Jingofetts 18:12, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
- There is a rabbit girl in the Arthur TV show. She does not have a official name however. Names from fanfic is not canon. If you can show me proof that the name of the character is indeed April by citing the name of the book or TV series in which her name was revealed. Then me and the group members will discuss it and if it's confirmed, we'll let it through.
you could still add her along with the boy that ges trex grr and others.
- That rabbit boy has an official name. This one doesn't. Also, this link[4] is exquisite proof that her name originates from a fanfic and not from a canon source.
- Then what is the rabbit boy's name? I like to think it's Arnold Taylour. --Janet6, a Wiki user
- That and one word --- *no.* Fanfic characters cannot be added. Wikipedia is not fanfiction.net, you can't just add whatever made up stuff you want. That goes for this "April," that goes for this "trex" whatever, or anything else like that. Why there is even this debate, I don't know. There is no April. There is a rabbit-girl. If you want to add something to the guide about the *unnamed* rabbit girl, you can. Otherwise, no.

LOVE DUCKS TELETUBBIES???
Also i would like to say Love Ducks is way off about the teletubbies are you mad? --Jingofetts 18:12, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
THE LOVE DUCKS ARE NOT TELETUBBIE BASED! when does it say about the teletubbies how do you know? --Jingofetts 18:14, 29 December 2005 (UTC) ASAP!
- Please do not use the {{disputed}} tag in conversations. (ESkog)(Talk) 19:26, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
I tell you Love Ducks is not Teletubbies. --Jingofetts 19:27, 29 December 2005 (UTC) Maybe i could get a reference? --Jingofetts 19:27, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
- It is widely considered in the Arthur group that love ducks is akin to teletubbies. RAMChYLD 05:30 30 December 2005 (MYT)
- The Love Ducks is based on Teletubbies for these reasons:
1. This is the biggest one --- the voice that comes on that says "Hello, Love Ducks" and "Goodbye, Love Ducks" is highly resemblant of the voice on Teletubbies that says "Hello, Tinky Winky. Hello, Dipsy." etc. etc.
2. Another super-big one --- the individual love ducks are the same colors as the teletubbies.
3. The general look and appearance of the series is Teletubbies-ish.
Just because it doesn't say "Teletubbies" anywhere on the show itself *doesn't* mean they aren't Teletubbie based.
--Agent0042 16:36 29 December 2005 (EST)
This will still be disputed because they might say goodbye and same colors it still does not make sense to call love ducks a teletubbies based television show just my opinion!
- So what do you want the writers to do --- put a flashing screen up saying "IT'S A TELETUBBIES PARODY!" The references aren't always going to be obvious, but how many instances of proof do you need before you'll accept it? I would think the fact that the colors are the same and the entrance and exit lines are a dead give-away.
- Agent0042 17:43 29 December 2005 (EST)
i or anyone should not be called a baby if they watch arthur. ike is on me about me watching arthur what iam a baby. come on.
- I don't think you got the point of that episode. There is nothing wrong with watching so-called "baby shows". That was what the episode of the TV show was about. If you're going to continue insisting that Love Ducks is not a parody of the Teletubbies dispite all the evidence and facts presented to you and the fact that there's a majority agreeing on the topic, then you're being dense. - RAMChYLD 11:34 30 December 2005 (MYT)
I have a simple explanation. It may or may not be a teletubbies parody. In the episode "The Secret Life of Dogs and Babies", they have an obvios parody to the teletubbies, complete with a face in the sun and everything.
Toby and other characters?
Who is Toby from the arthur kids show? Any evidence? April I still believe should be there maybe her name is not april but a rabbit girl is seen along with t-rex kid at rainbow rock national park or red rock? But who is Toby ASAP?
- Toby and Slink are the "daredevils" that tempted Buster to do bad things in the episode "Buster and the Daredevils" (Season 2, episode 3, story 2).
- More information of the episode could be found here:

- here's one of the few that turned up [8]. RAMChYLD 23:55 30 December 2005 MYT
Fake info.
RAMChYLD, that "fake info" you deleted about Molly and Arthur having a secret friendship, and you claiming that there was never such an episode. Actually, there was such an episode. It happened in "Arthur Makes Waves", from the 9th season. Of course, that bit of continuity probably won't be mentioned again in any proceeding episodes.
Also, Marina Detilo's last name was mentioned on the show too. In the 9th season episode "Three's a Crowd" (Prunella referred to Marina's mom as Mrs. Detilo).
Just wondering, have you seen any of the season 9 episodes yet? But it's still a pretty new season, so it's understandable if your TV station didn't air it yet. --Roabe 17:48, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
- Well, actually my TV station never even got past Season 5 (I get Arthur on both a local terrestrial channel called NTV7 and over Disney Channel Asia. NTV7 pulled the show after Season 4 in 2002. Disney pulled the show halfway through Season 5 in 2003. Both had never resumed airing Arthur since). I've been working in collaboration with the Yahoo Arthur Group members(including Agent0042) using the ECDC(which the group considers a trusted source of Arthur episode information). Of course, since information on ECDC is pretty much incomplete when it comes to Season 9. Agent is checking out the info now. If it's confirmed, we'll put it back. - RAMChYLD 12:08 31 December 2005 MYT.
I checked it --- it's "Datillo" according to the close-captioning. Agent0042 23:21 EST 30 December 2005
- 'k, thanks for the confirmation. Information has been put back up. -RAMChYLD 12:31 31 December 2005 MYT
New Episodes
Special thanks to Carol Greenwald, who has just come through with the following information:
"The good news is that there are new Arthur episodes for this spring, probably late April/early May. And, we just managed to scrape together enough funding to do 10 more Postcards from Buster episodes that will air next fall. We weren't so sure that Buster was going to survive the brouhaha last year, but many small foundations came through with generous support and so we're back in production."
This is directly from show executive producer Carol Greenwald. If for some reason you don't believe that I'm in contact with her, just visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/arthur2 and look for the Album in the photos section titled Carol Greenwald Reception.
- Agent0042 20:23 30 December 2005
I found this newsbit. It confirms the new season in spring 2006, and apparently one of the new episodes will be about D.W. visiting the hospital.--Roabe 01:42, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
Thanks so much for that info! "Operation D.W.!" huh? Sounds awesome!
- Agent0042
I added information about the new season to the guide page.
- Agent0042 12:56 31 December 2005 (EST)
Music Albums
I added a brand-new section with detailed information about the three music albums available for the show, but stopped short of adding complete track listings. I suppose if somebody wants to though, or if they think it would be a good idea?
- Agent0042 12:56 31 December 2005 (EST)
- I'd like to thank the person that added the more detailed information on the music albums and the BSB special music --- very nice work. Agent0042 05:31, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
Leftovers Goulash
Way back when, in 2001, I wrote a synopsis of the Arthur story "Arthur's Almost Live Not Real Music Festival" at the ECDC. One of the songs in there is "Leftovers Goulash," which is also available on the first album. This tune features several classical music pieces. I identified one of them succesfully as Amadeus Mozart's "Allegro" and another as Liszt's "Hungarian Rhapsody #2." But can anyone help me to identify the remaining classical music in this piece?
These lyrics are obviosly Mozart's Eina Cliena Nacht Music:"Nothing rare and nothing soupy, nothing slippery and nothing gloopy. Nothing mashed and nothing steamed, and nothing runny with eyes and feet that smells and wiggles when you touch it, that's gross, AND NOTHING CREAMED!"
Airtimes and Stations
I edited the info to say that it airs on PBSKids in the United States and on the CBC in Canada. I might add more info on international airings later, or if anyone else wants too?
- Well, only if Disney Channel obliges my request and Arthur comes back on air in Malaysia. I used to maintain a Arthur on TV worldwide database at the Arthur yahoo group. RAMChYLD 14:56 3 January 2006.
Killer?
Can anyone confirm the existance of this character? The person who put in this entry says that it's Grandma Thora's pet dog which she found as a stray, but I can't confirm it. RAMChYLD 16:20 3 January 2005
Ram i don't know about the name killer but grandma thora found a stray dog in a episode and now has her. Jingofetts 15:42, 3 January 2006 (UTC) The tough customers dog is crusher if needed.
- I remember the episode when the grandma got the dog. However, this dog was a single episode character, as far as I know. I personally think that all single episode characters are too trivial for inclusion in the article. ike9898 16:36, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
Sorry Ike but I have to disagree with you on minor characters being included. Jingofetts 18:36, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
Pepi and his brother in the flea episode when pal gets a flea on his fur. Jingofetts 19:45, 3 January 2006 (UTC) i cant remember pepi's brother's name sallie? Jingofetts 19:45, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
- Well, if the name of the dog is unknown, but it's a pet of Grandma Thora, I guess it can be put in as a pet, but giving it a name... that's misinformation imo, since the character wasn't assigned a name officially, and thus it's nameless in the Arthur canon. I think we should put it down as *Unknown stray dog* instead. As for Pepe and his brother, that could fit under the Other animals or pets whose owner is unknown catagory. In my opinion, as long as the character has a significance in the episode, even if it's a one-off character, it's okay. Just don't make up your own names for the character if it doesn't have an official name, or include characters or information from fan-fiction or unofficial sources. RAMChYLD 5:05 5th January 2006.
- Well, I didn't mean to imply that the dog wasn't named in the episode. I think it was, but I don't specifically remember the name. User Jingofetts may well have the correct name. Hopefully another user can corroborate this. ike9898 23:03, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
The dog was not named in the episode. Grandma Thora found her in the very beginning, and the name Killer was on her collar.
- Name confirmed per [official PBS Arthur site episode descriptions] --- see "It Came from Beyond."
- Agent0042 19:34, 4 January 2006 (EST)
Okay, thanks. I dispute removed. I feel stupid for not checking there. Sorry. RAMChYLD 00:51 6 January 2006
Carl Patch or something along with Minor Characters?
Should this really be needed? Jingo
It's Carl Patcheeva and he was in "Only Rock and Roll." Don't remove stuff that's correct. Agent0042 19:06, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
P.S. I don't have time to figure out how to restore what was removed right now. RAMChYLD, if you're reading, could you see about it? Agent0042 19:07, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I couldn't really do a rollback due to the fact that someone has contributed info after the erasal, so I had to manually readd it. And oh, Nadine deserves to be in a category of her own. RAMChYLD 07:27, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
Muffy Crosswire Merger
Agree --- none of the other characters (that I know of) have their own individual pages. The info should be here, if only for consistency. Agent0042 23:09, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
Agree --- since the character is part of the TV show, and as Agent said, is the only character with their own individual pages. RAMChYLD 05:15, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
- It is taken care of --- the Muffy info from that page is now here. Agent0042 23:54, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
Major rollback
I just did a major rv on the wiki page to one that's a few days old because of constant vandalism while my head was turned. Man, you take your eyes off the page for a minute and what happens? Vandalism extravaganza. "April" is not only restored into the pages, but personal attacks on a fellow contributor also surfaced. I put this page on Vandalism in progress and is about to report the IP too. RAMChYLD 07:30, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
Notes to contributors:
- This so-called "April Johnson" does not exist in the TV shows. There is a rabbit girl wearing striped shirt, but she is a backgrounder and has no name. She does not have any dialog either, and unless official sources confirm it, never will. There is no information about her officially being in Season 10, or it would've been stated in the offical Arthur newssites. Period.
- The comic strip deal has fell through. Someone at the Arthur group has contacted the licensor about it, and they have confirmed that the idea has been scrapped. Don't keep insisting that the comic will be coming out, cause unless the licensor says so, it is considered scrapped.
- I've noticed that someone keeps reducing the airdate of a particular season to only one month. PBS is inconsistant, and sometimes some PBS stations air programs earlier than others. Also, note that some program airs internationally before it reaches the US (Make Way For Noddy has been airing in Malaysia since 2003 but only made it over to the US in summer 2005, and Caillou has been on in Canada since 1998 but only started airing in the US in late 2000. Also, Malaysia got to see Season 5 of Franklin some 6 months prior to it airing in the US, and the Canadians got to see it even earlier.
- Lastly, I noticed that somebody is changing the date on the first aired/last aired to the British (day-month-year) format. The original entry was in the American (month-day-year) format. Please respect the format used for the guide and do not change it just because it doesn't look right to you. RAMChYLD 15:00, 27 January 2006 (MYT)

Arthur birthdays
Does anyone know Arthur, Francine, and Buster's birthdays? I know that Arthur was born on 25 May 1988, but what about Buster and Francine?--Janet6 10 February 2006, 02:08 PM
- D.W.'s birthday is March 1. Agent0042 04:23, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
The British Way
Hey, can I change the airdate of Arthur to day-month-year? I always write the British way. :) --Janet6
- Well, check the Wikipedia rules. Wikipedia is international, and respects the way the date is written when the article is created. Check the wiki help pages and rules for more information. RAMChYLD 04:15, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
April Johnson commercial??
I noticed on the Arthur article that an anonymous user posted something called "Domino's Pizza commercial" or something like that ... it also said it aired in October 2006. But we're only in the wake of February! Is this a fake, or is it saying that the bunny-girl will be featured in a DP commercial? Then, if its is, it would be less confusing to say "it will air in Oct. 2006" than "it aired in Oct. 2006". Janet 14:36, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
- I would put that down as the work of the "April" troll. In any case, it's good to see that the rubbish has been removed. I strongly encourage people who see any rubbish like that to remove it, and put a tag on the contributor. RAMChYLD 04:15, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
- It's garbage, a recurring troll who made a fanfic character called April Johnson. I agree strongly, if anyone spots any references to April, or April Johnson, or any other such nonsense, kill it immediately Agent0042 04:23, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
Arthur's family separate subsection in cast list
I noticed someone has edited the page so that Arthur's family appears in a separate subsection. I reverted the change because I didn't see it as necessary- in fact, I see it as a possible confusion source. Dispite the title, the show isn't only about Arthur. Therefore, I treat it as such. But if anyone has a feasible reason to have it changed back, please post your reason here. RAMChYLD 08:59, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
April
This troll seems to be coming back under various IPs, so if anyone else sees any mentions of April being added to the guide, feel free to remove it along with any other nonsense they add and slap a warning on them. Agent0042 05:38, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
- Agent0042 and I have did a bit of digging and we now think we know who the trolls are. Anyways, I agree with Agent. At any sight of "April", kill and warn. RAMChYLD 03:06, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
