I nominate this picture for the following reasons
- 1) Contemporary Eastern European artists, like Eastern European culture in general, is often marginalized in most English speaking countries.
- 2) The sculpture is part of an addition to a crypt in the Wawel Cathedral complex in Krakow that is part of a World Heritage Site.
- 3) The sculptor, Czeslaw Dzwigaj has an impressive list of works, with public installations in Germany, Argentina, as well as in Chicago outside of his native Poland.
- 4)Most importantly, the work and picture are aesthetically pleasing
