Category:Artists of the American West

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Visual Art Art of the American West is sometimes referred to as "Western Art" by Americans. This relatively new category of art includes paintings, sculptures and sometimes Native American crafts. Initially, subjects included exploration of the western states and cowboy themes. Fredrick Remington and Charles M. Russell are two artists who captured the "Wild West" on canvas. Presently, the style flourishes in variety and popularity. Many designers and decorators in the southwest include "Western Art" in homes and businesses. Many art museums and art collectors have recognized the beauty and historical significance of American Western Art in recent acquisitions.
