Artnapping, a word derived from art and nap ((nab) meaning snatch), has been derived from the word kidnapping. It involves the illegal practice of snatching works of art in order to receive ransoms for returning them to the rightful owner, without involvement of the police. It's a way to blackmail the insurance company of the owner.
