The Artists Theatre School was founded in 2008 by Amanda Redman. Based in Ealing Studios, it is a school for all ages and abilities. Classes are given by professional working artists with recognised speech and drama qualifications, drawing upon experience gained in film, television & theatre including the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Royal National Theatre and the West End Theatre.[1]
[edit] Classes
Students learn from visiting experts about all aspects of theatre and acting, including voice production, song, mime, movement, improvisation, dance, text study and interpretation, prose and poetry. Along the way they develop self confidence and communication skills as well as an increased knowledge of literature and theatre.
The term dates approximately follow those of schools and colleges. Students are grouped into age bands, with no upper age limit. [2]
[edit] PTA
Artists Theatre School is supported by an active parent teacher association that all parents of students, adult students and teachers are automatically members of and are encouraged to participate. The PTA supports the school through fund raising activities and volunteering time and expertise to assist with productions. [3]
