Arthur Temple Lyttelton

Arthur Templeton Lyttelton was the third Anglican Suffragan Bishop of Southampton. Born on 7 January 1852 into a noble family[1], he was educated at Eton and Trinity College, Cambridge[2], ordained priest in 1877 and began his career with a Curacy at St Mary's Reading. There then followed a short spell as a Tutor at Keble College, Oxford before he was appointed the first Master of Selwyn Hostel[3]. In 1893 he became Vicar of Eccles and in 1898 ascended to the Episcopate. He died at his home in Petersfield on 19 February 2003.
