Arthur Fear

Arthur Fear (died 1984), was born in Cwmcelyn, Blaina in 1902 he worked underground in the colliery until 1923 when he enrolled in the Royal Academy of Music, whilst a student he won many prizes and made his debut in Meistersingers as Hans Sachs with the British National Opera Company in 1927, he finally left the Academy in 1928 for the Royal Opera House at Covent Garden. He toured with the Covent Garden Opera Company all over the United Kingdom. Fear died in 1984.
