[edit] Details

Geoff Mann was replaced by Andy Sears in November 1983: Art And Illusion marks the first Twelfth Night release with Andy Sears.

Originally planned as an 8-song full-length album, in the end a 5-song mini album was recorded and released.

A UK tour in October 1984 included all five songs in the set-list, along with another new song Take A Look. Blue Powder Monkey had been performed live earlier in 1984. Both songs were demo'ed for Art and Illusion, but they were held back until the next album almost two years away. These demos, and a third, Blondon Fair, are available on the CD reissue of Art and Illusion, thus recreating the full-length album as originally planned.

C.R.A.B. had been performed for years as the second part of a piece called Entropy.
