The final sentence of the first paragraph: "If not for the stage play, Karloff would have played the same role in the film." seems obscure. It isn't clear how the stage play prevented Karloff from appearing in the film. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Toddmg (talk • contribs) 14:03, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Usually being in such a successful Broadway play is so time-consuming that there really isn't time to do much else (including a film adaptation of the very play you're in.) — Cinemaniac (talk) 23:18, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
