Full page image taken of arstechnica.com on 18 October 2007. Inline advertisements are removed with a browser tool. The image was constructed by assembling by hand several screenshots of the website with an image editor.
This supercedes the previous screenshot. I feel that at this time the articles and journals are of a particularly high quality so this is the perfect time to update the screenshot. Don't update again unless there's an actual layout change.
This is a screenshot of a copyrighted web page, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by owner of the website. It may also contain trademarked logos, which are likely not affiliated with Wikipedia. It is believed that the use of a limited number of such screenshots
qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, might be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Non-free content for more information. To the uploader: please add a detailed fair use rationale for each use, as well as the source of the work and copyright information. This tag is not appropriate for images and media found on websites; it should be used for screenshots of websites only. |
[edit] Fair use rationale
Screenshot demonstrates the subject of the article. The screenshot is of a web site, which is typically viewed graphically, so an image screenshot is a good way to identify the subject of the article. The content displayed is highly time-sensitive (news) so it does not interfere with Ars Technica's ability to market its content.
