Arseni Markov (born November 12, 1981 in Moscow, Soviet Union) is a retired competitive ice dancer who has competed internationally for Canada and Russia. With partner Chantal Lefebvre, he is the 2004 & 2005 Canadian national bronze medalist.
Markov competed as a singles skater for Russia until he was 13 years old. He then teamed up with Svetlana Kulikova in 1996. The two had a lot of success on the junior circuit and some success on the senior, but the partnership broke up in 2003.
Markov then moved to Canadia teamed up with Canadian Chantal Lefebvre. However, he was unable to compete internationally for Canada until 2005, because ISU regulations require a two year wait when country-hopping. In their first season competiting internationally, they placed 4th at the 2006 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships.
Lefebvre & Markov announced their retirement from competitive skating on July 20, 2007. They intend to coach and choreograph.[1]
Lefebvre & Markov are engaged to be married.[1]
