[edit] History and Campus
Co-founded in 1979 by Dr. Larry W. Poland (the current head of Mastermedia International, Inc. [1]) and Gordon Shipps, this parochial school consists of grades 7-12 and is based on incorporating Christian teachings and ideals into all aspects of education.
Arrowhead Christian Academy has been accredited by the WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) since July 1996. ACA is also a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
Today the main campus building (originally a large hosiery factory) houses middle and high school classrooms, a science wing with computer centers, a main computer lab with updated CPUs and a gymnasium/multipurpose auditorium. It includes a Library Research Media Center which features 24 workstations, along with a wide assortment of research materials and books. Sports facilities include athletic fields, an extensive exercise building (the "Barn"), and the 20,000 square foot Eagle Arena (the "big gym"). In 2004, a five-acre soccer field was completed which contains three full-size practice fields as well as one competition field. North Campus is home to the Center for the Arts Facility, with classrooms for music and visual art. This is known to the students as "The Art Room". In addition, the students buy their lunches outside the Eagle Arena in the area which is called "Eagles Landing". The students eat their lunches in "Eagle Park".

"Wings"
ACA’s yearbook, Wings, (known for its groundbreaking design and thought-provoking writing) has garnered consistent national honors for the past 13 years under the direction of adviser Crystal Kazmierski (JEA National Yearbook Adviser of the Year, 2000). Awards that the book has received include Columbia Scholastic Press Association's Gold and Silver Crowns [2] , the National Scholastic Press Association's National Pacemaker Award [3] and the University of Iowa's Quill and Scroll. "Wings" is added to the president's collection[4] at Walsworth Publishing yearly and consistently pushes the envelope in the scholastic journalism world. In April of 2006 "Wings" was inducted into the NSPA Hall of Fame for having earned 10 consecutive All-American ratings in their annual critique service. All current prepress work is done in-house using Adobe InDesign CS3 and Photoshop CS3.
Cambiata
ACA's high school choir performs annually at the ACSI Musicale in Pasadena, California. Under the direction of Elizabeth Van Gelder (1991-1999), Ellen Beery (1999-2004), Ruth Goodman (2005-2006) and Nancy Gilmore (2006-Current), they have participated in many choral-related events with the Kerygma Honor Choir.
Kerygma
ACA's Honor Choir has, for the past four years, won the gold or silver award at the invitational Heritage Festival at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. Kerygma has also performed with Cambiata, competed as a small ensemble at ASCI musicale, and participated at local venues under Elizabeth Van Gelder (1994-1999), Ellen Beery (1999-2004), Ruth Goodman (2004-2005) and Nancy Gilmore (2005-Current). On March 23, 2007, Arrowhead Christian Academy made school history by taking the entire music department (Kerygma, Cambiata, and the Drum Line/Percussions Studies groups) to Heritage Festival in Anaheim, California. Kerygma and Cambiata performed together, earning a silver award. On its own, Kerygma also earned a silver award. Drum Line/Percussion Studies received a silver award.

Eagle Arena
Eagle Arena is where Volleyball and Basketball are played. The plaque outside the arena was donated by the class of 1983. Eagle Arena also is home to the trusted and encased golden eagle, this commemorates that each Arrowhead team should rise up like eagles and to never give up.
Eagle arena is complete with a full sixe basketball court with bleachers and scorebored off to the left and also is equipped with pads for volleyball. If needed, the bleachers in the Arena can be retracted and pushed back. There are also four small basketball courts going across the Arena to equip multiple games of basketball.
On the left hand side of the Arena, there are banners that commemorate the champions of Arrowhead Christian. There is also a Christian flag to show that the basis of sport is to play for God.
Edison Field
Edison Field is near the back end of the campus, on the west side. This is where Soccer mainly plays and where Track and Field practices. All Soccer teams play on this field. This field was donated to Arrowhead by Edison Electric Company and has been a great asset to all the Soccer teams that play there.
[edit] Chapel
Arrowhead Christian Academy's Chapel or Spiritual Life Program has been bringing the music and spirit of the Christian faith to the school. The Chapel is always on Wednesday but sometimes gets moved around due to time or events taking place.
Many speakers come to ACA t spread their good news and testimonies. Sometimes videos and visual presentations are held during chapel to take place of a speaker and provide variety to the chapel. Many speakers from across the Inland Empire spread their news about God and send messages to each student at the chapel.
Chapel is usually held in the Middle School Gymnasium or "The Auditorium". Sometimes chapel is moved to Eagle Arena because of performances and plays taking place in the Auditorium.
The Spiritual Life class corganizes the chapels each and every week and organize the set-up and tear down of chairs and stage sets. The class also has many musicians that are willing to perform before the student body. From drumset, guitar, bass and other various instruments, the Spiritual Life class brings life and color to every single chapel.
Chapels are mandatory for every student on campus. Teachers join the chapel as well to listen in on the message that is brought in every week.
[edit] The Student Body/ASB and Events
Arrowhead Christian provides many events to the students each year. The ASB Class or the Student Council is in charge of these events. The main events for ACA are Homecoming and Prom. Each year the Homecoming theme is different as well as Spirit week.
Spirit Week is the week before Homecoming and is always different each year. Some events during Spriit Week are the Dance-Off, Superhero Costume Contests, etc. Each class also competes for the coveted Spirit Stick each year during this designated week. Each class dresses up to earn points for their class and at the end-of-the-week Homecoming Pep Rally the classes give one more shot to win the Spirit Stick.
The ASB also does events like fundraisers and events for charity. Many of the events go to an organization called Invisible Children to help starving and needy kids in Africa.
[edit] Statement of Faith
- The Bible is the inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original documents and of authority in all matters of faith and practice.
- There is one God, eternally existent in three persons-Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- The deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His substitutionary death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven, His high priestly ministry and His personal return in power and glory.
- Man is sinful by nature, that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential for salvation and that salvation is a free gift of God's grace received by personal faith in Jesus Christ.
- The present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the believer is sealed until the day of redemption and by whose filling the believer is empowered to live a godly life.
- The resurrection of the saved and of the lost; of the saved, to everlasting life and fellowship with God, and of the lost, to eternal, conscious judgment and separation from God.
- The spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
