  1. Arrondissement of Mantes-la-Jolie, (subprefecture: Mantes-la-Jolie) with 8 cantons and 117 communes. The population of the arrondissement was 254,384 in 1990, and was 264,269 in 1999, an increase of 3.89%.
  2. Arrondissement of Rambouillet, (subprefecture: Rambouillet) with 5 cantons and 81 communes. The population of the arrondissement was 197,764 in 1990, and was 214,219 in 1999, an increase of 8.32%.
  3. Arrondissement of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, (subprefecture: Saint-Germain-en-Laye) with 16 cantons and 45 communes. The population of the arrondissement was 516,593 in 1990, and was 528,320 in 1999, an increase of 2.27%.
  4. Arrondissement of Versailles, (prefecture of the Yvelines department: Versailles) with 10 cantons and 19 communes. The population of the arrondissement was 338,409 in 1990, and was 347,496 in 1999, an increase of 2.69%.
