The 3 arrondissements of the Lot department are:

  1. Arrondissement of Cahors, (prefecture of the Lot department: Cahors) with 13 cantons and 135 communes. The population of the arrondissement was 67,186 in 1990, and was 69,887 in 1999, an increase of 4.02%.
  2. Arrondissement of Figeac, (subprefecture: Figeac) with 9 cantons and 120 communes. The population of the arrondissement was 50,577 in 1990, and was 50,095 in 1999, a decrease of 0.95%.
  3. Arrondissement of Gourdon, (subprefecture: Gourdon) with 9 cantons and 85 communes. The population of the arrondissement was 38,053 in 1990, and was 40,215 in 1999, an increase of 5.68%.
