The fault lies with Wikipedia. Apparently I was trying to reply to a posted message, and my browser didn't give me any confirmation so I pressed the "Save Page" repeatedly. PS Not a personal attack. Nichalp 19:56, Jan 7, 2005 (UTC)
- Yes I already thought that this was by accident. So nevermind, no problem. :-) I have added this to the existing bug report with a link to the diff and from what you have written this perfectly is the same what had happend to me. So I'm confident that this bug can hopefully be reproduced and solved by delevopers which is important since it can cause very bad feelings for people (I was told by others that they had sometimes strange edit reverts they could neither explain nor reproduce again) Arnomane 00:01, 9 Jan 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Convento do Carmo ruins in Lisbon.jpg
I uploaded a public image from the stock exchange. The image got deleted, and was replaced by one with the same name by Chris Adams. Hence there is my old link, which now has the new picture. Hope this clarifies things -- Chris 73 Talk 12:19, Apr 25, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] David Crutcher message
It's simple, it was a campaign message daemon dialed out to members of the Alberta Alliance, I recorded it off my answering machine. It is also a source for the Article Alberta Alliance Party leadership election, 2005 it explains the about the message and what it relates to, campaign messages are public domain and by there nature can not be copyrighted. --Cloveious 18:20, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
- Well this is your claim that this is not copyrighted but I have no knowledge of any Canadian law that supports this assumption. Indeed the author wanted to have a widespread usage of this message but I'm sure he didn't mean public domain. So the copyright status is unclear and I put it thatfor on http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Deletion_requests#Image:Davidcrutcheremergencymessage.ogg. Please comment there so that we can enlighten the matter. Arnomane 19:52, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Board questions
As soon as possible; we're probably going to publish extremely soon (within the next few hours), and it would be optimal for your responses to be in before publication (and also to give me time to format it, etc.). Please let me know when you're done. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?) 21:47, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Image-Adolf Hitler Bigger.jpg
As your are an admin both here and commons, could I ask you to have a look at Image:Image-Adolf Hitler Bigger.jpg and its entry on Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion/2006 August 26. The image has been previously deleted (under a slightly different name) both on enwiki and commons but I cannot find the reasoning why it was deleted on commons (Links on both discussions). I was able to track the source of the picture to a US publication that cites "captured german photograph" as its source. While it was perfectly ok to use this image in 1954 in the US there seem to have been considerable changes since. You might be able to weigh in with your knowledge, or you might know someone who deals with that era in particular who is able to give us a definete answer. Thanks Agathoclea 08:29, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- Well I am admin in Commons and in de.wikipedia but not in en.wikipedia. But anyways I can give some background information on the image. As far as I can remember this image is a black and white version of a color picture and the original images has been taken by a photographer called Walter Frentz (see de:Walter Frentz, he died in 2004) and the image is still copyrighted (there were lawsuit in Germany that back Frentz' and his sucessors' claims against claims that the images are public domain per se or in property of Germany). The copyright (or better to speak with the terms of continental european authorship right: all exclusive usage rights) of virtually all existing color images of Hitler has been waved by Frentz to Ullstein Bild, a stock image agency agressively pursuing its rights. More than a year ago, we had a brief contact with them (found an archive entry at [1] (see my comment a little bit down in the thread, ok it's all written in German... There is also an entry in the Wikimedia-OTRS I could search for). They demanded from us (German language Wikipedia in particular) removing all their images from all Wikipedias within a short timeframe as they otherwise would take legal action. We thatfor removed/urged people to remove the pictures in every local community, which was achieved after a day or so. So we luckily were able to avert the legal action by Ullstein. So in any case this image needs to be deleted in order to avoid any trouble and if you happen to find a Hitler image in color somewhere in Wikipedia please take a deep look if it is really legal and if not place it asap on deletion candidates. - Thanks. I also copied this info to the picture discussion page. Agathoclea 09:56, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- Ok. I have also added it to the image deletion debate and gave some further information about the 1954-thing there. Arnomane 10:08, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- I just found 2 more Frentz pictures on the Adolf Hitler article, I have noted it on the pictures itself, but wanted to wait with the deletion discussion until after the other picture has been dealt with. Agathoclea 13:21, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] re: MediaWiki bug
Hi there. It's not really a bug in mediawiki. Someone accidentally left an unclosed html comment on the page before you added your comment, so it broke rendering on the page. I went ahead and fixed it for you. Cheers =) --slakr\ talk / 23:51, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
