ArnoCorps is a rock music group based in San Francisco, CA.
The band combines a militaristic appearance with a musical style rooted in skate punk and thrash metal. Describing their music as Action Adventure Hardcore Rock and Roll, the focus of the band is on energetic live performances which feature interaction with the audience. Attendees and fans are referred to by the band as "Goddamn Heroes."
ArnoCorps' lyrics refer almost exclusively to the films of Arnold Schwarzenegger, with particular emphasis on his action roles from the 1980s such as The Terminator, Predator and Total Recall, with many of the lyrics paralleling movie dialogue and plots, similar to The Misfits' lyrical focus on horror films and B-movies.
The band's stage show sees all five members dressed in combat fatigues and camouflage paint (most likely inspired by Predator and Commando) and address the audience in false Austrian accents. Each band member uses a pseudonym and they also claim to have six deceased former members.
As a further part of their act, ArnoCorps claim to be inspired by ancient folklore and mythology originating from the alps of their "native" Austria. ArnoCorps went further to charge several Hollywood movie studios with "stealing" the lore and mythology of Austria for plot material and dialogue in the films they have parodied. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the band attempted to launch a class-action lawsuit against the studios on behalf of the Austrian people in 2004, which failed to make it to court. This stance effectively alleviates ArnoCorps of being mislabelled as merely a tribute band.
After releasing two self-produced EPs in 2001 and 2002, the band built a fan following in the San Francisco Bay Area, earning headliner status by 2003 in respected music venues. The band's full length concept album was announced for release in 2005, titled The Greatest Band Of All Time. British metal label Anticulture Records released the album in the UK and Europe in February of 2006. After receiving critical praise in British magazines such as Metal Hammer and Total Guitar along with mainstream radio airplay on BBC Radio 1, ArnoCorps toured the UK and Ireland in the summer of 2006. The tour earned the band a 10 out of 10 rating from the BBC for a performance in Manchester, England, an appearance on commercial radio station Kerrang! 105.2 and a rave review of their London show in the October 2006 issue of Bizarre (Magazine).

[edit] Official Biography
Throughout the history of mankind, the stories most often told through song are those of great deeds and fantastic adventures.
ArnoCorps (pronounced är-no-kôr) continue this tradition by bringing to audiences original musical interpretations of ancient Austrian lore and mythology, such as Terminator, Commando, Predator, Total Recall and True Lies. In doing so, ArnoCorps has created a new genre of music: Action Adventure Hardcore Rock and Roll.
“A work of deranged sublime genius” 9/10 Terrorizer
It should come as no surprise that the pioneers of Action-Adventure Hardcore Rock and Roll claim to be The Greatest Band of All Time.
After going AWOL from the Austrian Army to form the band in 1989, ArnoCorps became wanted men in their native Gratz, Austria. Forced into exile with only their instruments and combat fatigues, the band relentlessly toured Europe using a renovated milk truck before finally settling in the United States, choosing California as the new base of their operations.
Since their 2001 arrival in the burgeoning San Francisco Bay Area music scene, ArnoCorps has paved a steady, disciplined and often destructive path to ensure that all those who bear witness to their live Action Adventure Audio Assault agree with their ballsy assertion.
“ArnoCorps are not an Arnold Schwarzenegger tribute band! Do you understand?” Bizarre Magazine
Initially, one might perceive ArnoCorps as merely a group of six highly trained renegade Austrian action-rock heroes. Big mistake. The motivation behind the band is far too complex to be defined by such superficial characteristics. ArnoCorps has been singularly responsible for restoring integrity to the many Austrian tales that have been bastardized for cinematic exploitation throughout their lifetimes.
The principles of the action-adventure lifestyle are defined in ArnoCorps music in a way that has never been heard before. Beyond the distinctively accented delivery of lead vocalist Holzfeuer, ArnoCorps' sound is defined by a unique band arrangement of heroic symmetry. The two guitars of Vielmehr Klampfe and Inzo der Barrakuda are counterbalanced by the two basses of Toten Adler and Der Wölf, while the critically acclaimed drumming of Gellend Adler provides the backbone of the band. As described by Blender Magazine, “ArnoCorps' delivery is aggressive and fast”.
"If you want to achieve a true pump stick the Greatest Band Of All Time in your CD player. This stuff'll make you a goddamn sexual tyrannosaurus" Nick Cracknell, Total Guitar
ArnoCorps' explosive live performance doesn't depend on pyrotechnics or lighting effects to create excitement. The band's pure physicality qualified them to be featured in San Francisco’s World's Deadliest Bands annual showcase two years running.
With ballsy attitudes, unmatched machismo, an affinity for stogies, and an unrelenting passion for feeling The Pump, these last action rock heroes can be an intimidating presence during their highly physical on-stage live audio assaults. However, there is no need for the audience to fear ArnoCorps, they are a rescue team, not assassins.
ArnoCorps’ infectious on-stage energy incites its crowds to join in the screaming of quotes from ancient lore, such as "Kill me now!", "Get your ass to Mars!" and "Stick Around!". The accompanying sound is heavy, fast, precise and loud, as heard at an unprecedented level 12 amplification. Attendees are no longer merely observers, but willing participants in a life-changing event. Many audience members claim to leave with increased muscle mass, a better understanding of life's mysteries and feeling like "goddamn heroes".
"Do ArnoCorps deliver on the promise of being a great band? You'd better believe it!" 4/5 Zero Tolerance
Now, let ArnoCorps tell you of the days of high adventure! Come on! Do it now!! What are you waiting for!?
