[edit] License tagging for Image:TargetLonglifeMediaPlayer.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:TargetLonglifeMediaPlayer.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 23:11, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Edit Summary

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. --Geniac 00:57, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use image in user namespace

Hello! You have used a fair use image in your user namespace. Criterion 9 of the Wikipedia:Fair use criteria states that "Fair use images may be used only in the article namespace. Used outside article space, they are not covered under the fair use doctrine." I have removed it on these grounds. Sincerely, --Oden 10:29, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:TP Wii GC combined.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:TP Wii GC combined.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Prison Break episodes

Hi, Arman88. I've recently replaced your screenshot of "The Road to Freedom" with another screenshot because I feel that the title screenshot didn't really capture the episode's content. I hope you don't mind. On another note, I noticed that you added the title and summary of the fifteenth episode of the second season. Please note that any information regarding future episodes must be cited with a reliable and veriable source e.g. a Fox press release. The title and summary of the fifteenth episode has not been officially released by Fox yet. Regards, Ladida 00:11, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Preview

I would like to thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. However, it is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Thanks again. --Geniac 20:07, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Target Longlife Media Player

Huh? Qutezuce 01:14, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

I realize that Target Longlife is real, that is not why I want it deleted. I feel that both things are not notable enough to be included in Wikipedia. Wikipedia isn't just a collection of every little piece of information you want to put into it. It has standards. A far as the media player not having any connection to MPC, I use your own words to disprove that. In this series of edits you said:

Target Longlife Productions, a Swedish film production company, released their own version of a modified Media Player Classic. Although the source code is originally from the MPC, Target Longlife edited the MPC version with new languages and a new layout.

So any claim that the Target Longlife Media Player is unrelated to MPC is false by your own words. Seeing as the media player is only a minor modification of MPC I do not feel that is deserves its own Wikipedia page. If I recompile my own version of MPC but call it "Cat and Mouse Player", and make no other changes then does my new program deserve a Wikipedia page? No it does not. Qutezuce 22:25, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

It's not the content of the article that is the problem, it's the subject of the article. I feel that subject of the two articles in question are not notable enough to be included in Wikipedia. If you feel otherwise feel free to make your case on the associated AFD pages. Qutezuce 23:24, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Thedarkknight_teaserposter.jpg listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Thedarkknight_teaserposter.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. [edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Princeofpersia sandsoftime promo logo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Princeofpersia sandsoftime promo logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 03:02, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Stewieandgene.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Stewieandgene.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:00, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Current Events

Regarding your recent edit summary, you're probably looking for {{currentevent}}, which sticks the following tag on an article:

Lankiveil (speak to me) 11:06, 29 April 2008 (UTC).

You're welcome. Also please note that you should use four tildes (like this: ~~~~) to sign comments that you stick on talk pages. Another more specific tag that might be applicable on your article is {{future album}}. Happy editing! Lankiveil (speak to me) 11:14, 29 April 2008 (UTC).

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Thehappeningposter2.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Thehappeningposter2.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice?pd_THOR | =/\= | 17:40, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
