"The song is about the effects of war and about a mother who grieves for her young son, who was killed on military maneuvers. Saddened by his unnecessary death, she wrestles with her guilt over what she could have done to prevent it."--I'm not sure about this bit. I imaginedit was sung as a biting indictment of society rather than in the persona of a grieving woman.Merkinsmum 18:57, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
