Edited by Simonmetcalf. This version was digitally enhanced by myself using the original 1912 drawing available from the Australian Federal Government the and the badges of the Australian State and Territory flags to recreate the shield.

Description

The original drawing of the Australian coat of arms. The Coat of Arms of Australia is the official symbol of Australia. The initial coat of arms was granted by King Edward VII on May 7 1908, and the current version, shown here, was granted by King George V on September 19 1912. This page was sent to the Prime Minister of Australia's department with the following note: His Excellency the Governor General directs the publication, for general information, of the enclosed certified copy of the Royal Warrant granting Armorial Ensigns and Supporters to the Commonwealth of Australia.
