The Armenian-Byzantine Battle was fought between the forces of Vahram Pahlavouni and the Byzantine Empire. The former heavily defeated the latter, forcing the Byzantines to incur casualties of up to 20,000 dead.[1] This victory allowed Vahram Pahlavouni to crown Gagik II king of Armenia and take the fortress of Ani, which was in the hands of Vest Sarkis.
