[edit] The ASRWC
The Armaroli Sim Racing World Cup is one of the highly professional championships run using rFactor. Using a fictional formula racer designed around Armaroli's own Sim Racing products, the championship offers a cash prize to the winning nation, and is currently contested by 38 nations.
The first race in the 2006 Armaroli Sim Racing was held May 20, 2006 using the Zandvoort, Netherlands circuit as prepared for rFactor. This inaugural race was won by team Switzerland with Patrick Heri at the wheel of the car.
The 2006 Championship concluded on November 25, 2006 on the Interlagos Circuit. The race was won by David Greco driving for team Italy, and as a result of the win, team Italy clinched the championship win. Second place in the race and the championship went to South Africa—largely driven by Zaahir Essa—and third in the championship went to team Switzerland. Congratulations to all.
Each race in the championship is broadcast live through the Armaroli Website with live commentary—in Portuguese and English—changing camera angles—everything to simulate a real race broadcast.
The 2007 Armaroli Sim Racing World Cup looks to expand the season to 11 races and use updated cars to promote even better racing than was seen in 2006. Expectations will be high to see if last year's front-runners return to the championship.
