Armando Merodio

Armando Merodio Pesquera (b. Barcelona, August 28, 1935) was a Spanish footballer during the 1950s and 1960s. He played for Atlético Bilbao between 1955 and 1963, making 88 La Liga appearances and scoring 35 La Liga goals. He played three times and scored once for Atlético as they won La Liga during his debut season. Merodio also played and scored for Atlético Bilbao in their 1956 defeat to Manchester United in the European Cup. In 1963 he joined Real Murcia and went onto play a further 55 La Liga games and score 10 goals.
