Armando Gutierrez (born November 17, 1949 Cuba) is a political figure in the United States and nationally respected Hispanic leader.

Gutierrez was born in Cuba, but political pressures forced him into exile to the United States, where he spent several years in New Jersey and eventually settled in Miami, Florida. After several years in the banking industry, Gutierrez had built a strong name in the Cuban community, which led to his involvement in politics. For over 30 years presidents, senators, and many international politicians have consulted with Gutierrez about Cuban issues.

Gutierrez has run hundreds of political campaigns that have led to the election of national and local political leaders. He also had a role in the election of the Prime Minister of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

He acted as spokesperson for the family of Elián González during the Elián González saga, where he gained international notoriety. Gutierrez led the efforts in Miami to help Elián maintain his freedom. Gutierrez organized the legal team and negotiated with the US government, the night of the entry to retrieve Elian Gonzalez, Gutierrez and attorneys where in the house speaking to the Clinton Administration. Gutierrez was portrayed in several movies about the Elian Gonzalez story as a strong negotiator and speaker for freedom.

Gutierrez is also known for his continued efforts on human rights, and economic policy.

Gutierrez has been featured in several magazines and newspapers, including time magazine, new york times, miami herald, and many more. Gutierrez has been interviewed on FOX, NBC, ABC, Larry King, & CNN. Gutierrez has also portrayed himself in the ongoing English and Spanish Discovery Channel Specials and Movie on Elian Gonzalez.

Armando Gutierrez was named one of the top 500 influential hispanics in the USA. He is married to Maritza Gutierrez and they have two sons, Armando Gutierrez Jr and Chad Gutierrez.
