Armand Colin
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Armand Colin is an historically important French publishing house created in 1870 by Auguste Armand Colin. It quickly became the principal publisher in the world of education, including higher education, with works for students and faculty in the human sciences, economics and education. Armand Colin remained dominant in these areas through the beginning of the 20th century.
It then became more diverse in its publications but, since the 1980s, has returned to its original domain: the realm of the university. Among its best-known publications are the "U" collection begun in 1968 and the "Cursus" collection.
In 1987 Armand Colin was purchased by Masson which, in turn, became part of the City Group (Groupe de la Cité) in 1994.
