Arlington Road Runners Club

The Arlington Road Runners Club (located in Arlington, Virginia) is a non-profit chapter of the Road Runners Club of America. The club is geared towards training new runners and walkers to complete local races and to improve their general fitness levels.

The Arlington Road Runners Club offers members measured training routes, running/walking tips, and a friendly atmosphere dedicated to helping their members reach their training goals. Its local sponsors also offer members additional training and fitness support as well as discounts on services and merchandise.

The following is a list of some of the local races that the club prepares its members for:


The club was founded in 2007 by Nelda Strasser, Ellen Williams, Shari Pine, and Val Rodriguez. All are former members and coaches from local marathon training programs. Their mission is to help others get up, get out, and get fit. This community-minded organization intends to donate any excess proceeds towards funding fitness programs for children in the Washington, D.C., Area.
