Arlington is an MBTA station on the Green Line, located on the southwest end of the Boston Public Garden at the corner of Arlington and Boylston Streets. It is therefore popular for reaching the Public Garden, particularly its famous swan boats.

Since Copley Station, where the E line branches, lacks a crossover between westbound (outbound) and eastbound (inbound) tracks, this is the last stop in the outbound direction at which a transfer among all Green Line trains traveling in either direction is possible.

[edit] Accessibility

On November 22, 2006, the main entrance to Arlington station closed for extensive construction, including changes to make the station handicapped accessible. The Arlington Street entrance will not reopen until March 1, 2008. Until then, all access to Arlington station is through the long–closed entrances at the corner of Boylston and Berkeley Streets. As of late May 2008, the Arlington Street entrance remains unopen.
