Arlingham

Arlingham is a village and civil parish in the Stroud district of Gloucestershire, England. The parish had a population of 410 according to the 2001 census. The parish occupies a peninsula caused by a sharp bend in the River Severn - the next village to the east is Fretherne. Down Passage road there is a famous fish resteraunt called the Passage Inn. Arlingham FC, based near the village church, are in Stroud League Division Five. The Church has some of the oldest stain glass windows in Gloucestershire.
A Ham class minesweeper was named after the village - HMS Arlingham.
The centre of the village is built around The Cross and situated here is the RED LION, a large village pub, partly dating from the 16th century. The village shop was shut down late in 2007.
