Arla Plast AB , headquartered in Sweden is one of Europe's leading suppliers of solid extruded thermoplastic sheet. They extrude solid sheet out of polycarbonate(PC), Copolyester (PETG), ABS and polyolefins(PO).
Arla Plast AB was the first company in Europe to co-extrude a UV-absorber on polycarbonate sheet in order to enhance the wheatherability of polycarbonate for out-door use. This polycarbonate sheet is called Makrolife, both referring to the origin of the product (Makrolon, one of the two original resins) and the improvement. Co-extrusion is the preferred method today to enhance polycarbonate sheets. All major manufacturers of polycarbonate sheet use this technique now; where in the past some had used acrylic coating.
The co-extrusion technique is used for their other solid sheet products Griphen (PETG, and ABS), but also for multiwall polycarbonate sheet production.
Arla Plast AB is one of the founders of the European Polycarbonate Sheet Extruders (EPSE) organisation, under the umbrella of the European Plastics Converters (EUPC)
