Highway 12 is a mostly 2-lane east-west highway in northwest Arkansas. Its western terminus is the Oklahoma State Line where it continues as State Highway 116. Its eastern terminus is Highway 23 3 1/2 miles east of Clifty. In Benton County, it passes by the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport before intersecting Business US 71 at Bentonville. From here, it overlaps Business 71 for approximately 5 miles east to an intersection with Business US 62 in Rogers. Highway 12 then overlaps Business 62 for approximately 1 mile before splitting off and heading towards Beaver Lake. Between Rogers and Clifty, Highway 12 is a narrow 2-lane road with several steep grades and hairpin curves.
