First post!
I do like freshly archived talk pages :) Anyway, got a request for you, if you're about. Can you delete the stack of pages here? We don't need them any more, now that we've got the randomised portal component going, and it'll save time rather than getting half db-authored and half... God knows what speedy criterion ;) As a favour? Cheers, riana_dzasta 16:17, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks Arjun, you're a champ! You'll find 50 bucks in the mail on the 12th of never ;) I'm outta here for the night, but take care, and thanks again! riana_dzasta 16:33, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- Could you also delete Portal:West Bengalt/Did you know/Archive? Thanks a lot, S.D. ¿п? § 16:42, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- Wait, I think the deletion of Portal:West Bengal/Did you know/Archive was a mistake. The link up there, Portal:West Bengalt/Did you know/Archive, is a spelling error. I know this is asking too much, but could you undelete the Portal:West Bengal/Did you know/Archive? Sorry for all the trouble (in a few days, Riana will have her own tools

Llama man's RFA
Well, I personally though that 1,600 mainspace was a little too low in order to become an admin , an RFA I submitted about a month ago failed at 611 mainspace edits (yes I know theres a difference of about 1,000) but I personlly though it too be slightly too low, I hope you understand.TellyaddictEditor review! 20:11, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
Removal of entry on vandalism page
Hi there. You removed my entry on the administrator intervention against vandalism page with the reasoning that the vandalizing parties had ceased their edits. The user in question has removed interwiki data from the natal chart article repeatedly over the course of the past couple of months. I have asked her a total of 3 times to stop it but she has persisted. Indeed, her latest removal was today. I warned her on January 24th that the next time she removed it I would be pursing a block for vandalism because I was fed up with restoring it repeatedly. She may have stopped for the moment, but judging from her past edits it would not surprise me if she did it again. I am entirely new to this process; this is my first time taking action against a vandal, so I could be making a mistake on how to go about doing this. If that's the case, please direct me to the correct step. Thank you.. Sam 20:44, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
(More) Requests
Could you restore Portal:West Bengal/West Bengal news/Archive/1? In deleted Portal:West Bengal/West Bengal news/Archive/Archive1, somehow Portal:West Bengal/West Bengal news/Archive/1 was deleted as well. Also could you delete Portal:West Bengal/Selected article? Thanks a lot for you help. I would give you the Barnstar of Diligence for your, well, diligence (but I'm holding myself back). Cheers! S.D. ¿п? § 22:27, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- Since this archive is not needed, could you (can you guess?) delete it? Thanks again, S.D. ¿п? § 23:57, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

I would also change the email address into something a spambot could not easily follow, e.g. wiki (underscore) arjun (at) yahoo (dot) com. I was going to, but thought I should just suggest it instead. --Majorly (o rly?) 23:40, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
Re:I am now an admin
That is wonderful! I'm sure you will do very well. Don't worry if you're starting to think I've left. Sorry for the inactivity, I was trying out an MMORPG. I would never consider quitting Wikipedia with its strong purpose and friends like you. --Gray PorpoiseYour wish is my command! 00:44, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
Congrats!
Congratulations on becoming an admin! You deserve it. On a second note, you were one of the original people to post on my Wikipedia:Editor_review/Mkdw. I have recently received some comments that I'm not sure how to take, and as someone who has seen many peer reviews and is a verteran of Wikipedia, I see your advice. Block of 60.234.48.7
Auckland Grammar School has recently received a message about your (understandably!) blocking our primary proxy address 60.234.48.7.
As a school we have little or no control over the actions of our over 4000 users in editing public space websites such as Wikipedia, however we also have a number of Faculty staff who wish to actively contribute to Wikipedia to assist in building resources for class use and the use of others.
The Information Services Department has created a user login Akgrammar to serve as a means of responsible users creating and editing content. We would like to maintain the anonymous editing block on 60.234.48.7 and restriction on user account creation indefinitely.
However, is there any way we can create accounts for Faculty Staff through our Akgrammar account?
Thanks for any assistance with this matter, if you would prefer we can be contacted at netadmin@ags.school.nz
Regards Bradley Scarisbrick Information Systems Engineer Auckland Grammar School http://www.ags.school.nz —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Akgrammar (talk • contribs) 03:20, 13 February 2007 (UTC).
- Hello Bradley; thank you for asking. Well I didn't realize it was an entire school; the IP was vandalizing off the wall something had to be done. And the fact that it vandalized many times before with blocks didn't look good. I have softened the block; basically that means that I made it so that the IP itself can't edit however accounts can be made to do editing. So if anyone wants to contribute positively they will have to create a new account. I will be keeping an eye on things. ~ Arjun 03:35, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

- Thanks Arjun and thanks for your quick response. After looking back through our block log before contacting you I would have had no hesitation in instating an IP block on this address either! The account sign-up system works well for us, it should also make life easier for you guys in tracking the vandals. We are about to implement a secondary user access proxy so requests may originate from another address, I will update this talk page or create a new conversation when we know the IP details of that server, for your reference our address range is 60.234.48.1 - 15 - Regards, Bradley

Note of apology
I know this is probably going to do squat for my reputation now (Not that I ever really had one), but I thought I'd leave a note of apology to everyone involved in my recent actions. An explaination is in order too. First off, I had a bad real life situation, that I really don't want to talk about, on the day this all started. I shouldn't have edited on Wikipedia afterwards, but I did. When I saw the situation with Riana's RfA, it kind of set off a build up of unvented anger at my situation & it was un needed. My whole tyraid had very little to do with the RfA, but I guess I took it out on that angle anyway. The way I was handled could have been better, but I wont go there in threat of making this sound like a back handed apology. My apologies go to Riana, who was also having a real life crisis at the time too. Basically the whole thing was a misunderstanding & venting process which I involved you all in. In regard to the whole sock puppetry thing, I had told my brother about my problems in due trust & he went & did something stupid on here. I don't really know what else to say but sorry. If that & a little bit of hard work repairing relationships on here doesn't change your current view point of me, then I don't think anything will. So again, sorry if I've inconvenienced you guys in any way & I hope that over time you'll think better of me. I'd love if you guys could forgive & hopefully forget & I wasn't really in control of myself these past few days. Hopefully things can get back to normal. :) Spawn Man 06:25, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
Dweller's ode to the helpful admin
- I spend a lot of time patrolling Recent Changes,
- Looking for destruction that's been wrought on our pages,
- There are more silly people than I could possibly handle,
- So thank you blocking this annoying vandal. --Dweller 14:05, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi
Hello Arjun!
Well it seems i may get involved in an ArbComm case. My userpage was vandalised by an anon. last week and all my personal info. was pasted on my userpage for all to see. I did manage to get my userpage deleted by an admin. I think the vandal may have something to do with users i'm having a disagreement with. Could you look look into the deleted pages and durnish the I.P for me?

Umm thanks.... i am not asking you to block him or anything. WHOIS gives me a farily good idea of who he might be! Heck i seem to have enmeshed my self in this incessant tug of war between Hindutvaadis and Indian leftists/Islamic/Pakistani editors.. Nasty business. Amey Aryan DaBrood© 20:15, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- I am sure Arjun will be glad to help you out but, in his absense if you need another admin to help ya out, I will be glad to! -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 20:16, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for offering help Chris! Unfortunately all avenues of WP:DR have been used up. The case dates back to Dec 2005 (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Siddiqui ). It appears to be all set for ArbComm. Admin User:Rama's arrow is in the thick of things! Its basically an offshoot of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration/Hkelkar, the botterest ArbComm case on Wiki till date.... Talk pages for Indian political articles (esp those related to Hindutva) are littered with macho repartee from both sides. Amey Aryan DaBrood© 20:31, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
you've got mail. Amey Aryan DaBrood© 21:51, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- Its actually not really related to hkelkar. BhaiSaab was pakistani, and TerryJ-Ho was Indian. The user trolling on the RFA was indian as well.Bakaman 01:13, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Guess what?
Did you know... ...that Portal:West Bengal/Featured articles/Layout and Portal:West Bengal/Featured articles/Usage are not needed anymore? Seriously, could you delete these two pages (we were thinking about replacing the phrase selected articles with featured articles, but per discussion we decided that wouldn't be such a great idea)? Thanks a lot. You're already becoming known as a helpful admin. Keep up the good stuff! Also, any thoughts on the West Bengal portal would be great. Cheers, S.D. ¿п? § 00:23, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
- Yup; done with the deletion. Thanks for your kind words; and portal Bengal is looking awesome. I am happy that you and other editors are working so hard on it. Looks like featured quality. Cheers! ~ Arjun 00:33, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Just passing through...
Hi Arjun. Just popping in briefly and wanted to take the time to say a belated congradulations on getting the mop. An honour well earned and well deserved!. I am extending my vacation(sunny Cuba beckons) but will be back in a week or so. And then Wiki-vandals beware :) . Actually, I taught my receptionists how to do quick, anonymous RC vandal patrol. They say they are catching 15-20 per day(each) so I guess I'm not needed here anymore anyways :D . One quick note....I noticed a couple of new Guitarist Project members (one accidently put his name at the top of the list instead of the bottom.....just being nit-picky) I haven't time to quick them a proper "Welcome to the project" message. If you can spare a minute could you do that on my behalf. If you're busy(and I know you are) I can always send to a "How d'do" when I return. Cheers, take care....and again...Congradulations! How does the editor decide whether the debate on an article should be deleted or nor.?
For example there was an AFD for Bilal Mushraff it was decided to keep the article but there was hardly any comments on that can you explain
