[edit] ThinkingRock Link (et al) in GTD Article
Arienh4, I noticed your new ThinkingRock article. Great idea! However, the link to it from Getting Things Done worries me as those tend to become spam magnets. If we add this one, what about the other 106 GTD apps, many of which are also GTD-specific? ThinkingRock is open source, but so are 27 others. I didn't want to just revert out of respect for your long experience on WP (noting your recent RfA), so what do you think?
My thoughts and observations: We don't want a long list of software apps directly in the GTD article like the one admins already deleted 4 Dec 2007. (That's discussed in gory detail on the GTD Talk page.) GTD article citation #5 originated from that old list and already includes ThinkingRock. The current citation used to be an inline link (instead of the current footnote) to help Wikipedians find that additional detail as suggested in WP:EL, see also my comments here, point number 5. It got changed in recent anonymous edit warring and was never restored. Would reverting to inline help Wikipedians more? Maybe the ThinkingRock link should be a See Also, or is that just encouraging list proliferation in another place? Perhaps the cited source should point back to related WP articles (especially given its origins)? Thoughts? Kcren (talk) 20:52, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
