Sorry - a bug crept in while I was working on the template. I've reverted to the last working version, and will try to work out what caused it. Jakew 20:31, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

No problem Jake, I'm sure you'll figure it out, you always do! ArielGold 20:35, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Solved that one, I think.
My latest creation (for use with languages):
I think the categories will work automatically, too. Jakew 20:42, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
I have no doubt you're fixes will work, but I'm not sure what your latest creation is supposed to be, is that for the proficiency levels? Like, B:En-1 ? Looks good if that's what it is for, but the link leads me to that awesome looking userpage of yours... ArielGold 21:11, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Yep, it's for language proficiency levels. I've just posted an explanation on the project page. Take a look at the labels on that awesome-looking page - notice the B:EN-N? Image:Smile.svg Jakew 21:22, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Yeah I actually did notice that! Lol. ArielGold 21:23, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

WP:KIS

Hey Ariel, I was wondering, for the Babel labels (by the way, thanks for rewording that; I didn't realize it. ), how do you create proficiency levels? Thanks! Love, Neranei (talk) 23:04, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Jake just added that function, and he's got the explanation on the talk page. It is kind of complicated, he has a whole template for doing these labels, but basically you don't make them, you can add the indicator to existing labels (as soon as he updates them, currently only English has the option to show proficiency). Also when adding labels can you alphabetize them? I'm doing it now, because I forgot to do it initially, so it will be easier now before the list is too long, lol. And thanks for making all those new ones! You rock! ArielGold 23:07, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Whoops, sorry! I didn't realize. I will alphabetize from now on! It's not that hard to make new ones, I'm just going down the list of languages by speaker; hence why Javanese is on there. By the way, who is in the WikiProject? Love, Neranei (talk) 23:16, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
I will now alphabetize additions. I checked with Jake, and he said that as long as I'm using the English template, then I'm OK with the proficiency parameter. This is fun! Love, Neranei (talk) 23:21, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Well, I think Librarian2 is the founder, and the PR-type person, Jake is the programmer, and I'm the designer, although Jake did a majority of the "label shelf" designs, and I've created several labels, so really we don't delineate, but we know who is good at what, and so far, Jake is the expert at the coding end, he's made the templates super easy to use, while adding a lot of variety to the way things can look. And that's just awesome that the way you're doing it is going to work with the proficiency thingie! ArielGold 23:23, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
That's cool. It's a neat project! The templates are really easy to use; I'm amazed! And, I'm glad that the proficiency thing works 'cause Jake would have a LOT of work on his hands! (and I am alphabetizing now...) ;-) Love, Neranei (talk) 23:26, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
P.S. I'm eating dinner right now, but I should be back in like an hour if you're still here. Love, Neranei (talk) 23:28, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Hee hee, I alphabetized them all after you let me edit, so just is a maintenance thing now, adding which one you do, moving the extra out of the column. Might be a pain, but I don't know of any other way to make columns "wrap" to avoid it. Maybe Jake will see this and put his awesome skills to work making that easier, lol. Jake and I seem to watch each other's pages, so I follow your conversations with him there, and he follows ours here. Neato huh? (HI JAKE! ) ~*Giggle*~ And yep I'll be here for a few more hours yet. ArielGold 23:29, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Excellent ! Actually, isn't there a way to automatically alphabetize things? (I have no idea how to do it, but...) I'll be here for awhile! I haven't got much else to do so... Love, Neranei (talk) 00:28, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

I haven't found a way to auto-alphabetize. Numbered lists, yes. There may be a way, but I don't know it, lol. ArielGold 00:30, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

I don't know either; is Jake around? Love,Neranei (talk) 00:44, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Hrmm, I dunno, he hasn't edited in over half hour. Not sure what time zone he's in. ArielGold 00:50, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
I don't know his timezone either; I only met him today! By the way, would it be OK with you if I made like 10 labels then alphabetized it? Love, Neranei (talk) 00:54, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
LOL Of course, I just wanted to start doing it, since I hadn't alphabetized them initially when we created that section. (Loved your edit summary btw, lol.) You don't have to ask for permission to do anything, dear, just do it, I'm sure it will be fine! ArielGold 00:56, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Hee hee hee, it's just easier to alphabetize a bunch. (I don't get good edit summaries off often!) Are we going to try and convert every userbox? Love,Neranei (talk) 00:59, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
That would be one monumental project, lol. We just started with the most popular ones at first, and you've added some good ones. I'd say for the less-used languages, people can request the box on an individual basis, as it only takes a few minutes to make them. What do you think? ArielGold 01:01, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Well, I've made enough of them now that the majority of the time is alphabetizing. I was going to do like the top 50 or whatever languages, and then move to, like, country of residence, for the top 25 countries by population or something. Such fun! Love, Neranei (talk) 01:03, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
LOL That is a lot of work, dear! ArielGold 01:05, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

I don't have anything else to do, LOL! Might as well help you guys...:) Love, Neranei (talk) 01:12, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

In answer to the above, I can think of a way to automatically sort entries into alphabetical order, but I'm not sure how well it would work (or indeed, whether it will work at all). What we'd need to do is to add each label template to a category, for example, Category:User label babel, and then transclude that category onto the project page. The effect of this is that we'd get a nice, sorted list of templates. The disadvantage is that we only get the template name, and no example.

I'm in England, so the time here at present is GMT+1. And ... HI TO YOU TOO, ARIEL! ;) Jakew 13:46, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Ah, well, I guess we can manually sort them, but I has the idea to make the list, then create the labels, so that's what I'm doing for the location ones. Makes it easier. Oh, and Ariel, Phaedriel's back! Yay! Back to work... Love, Neranei (talk) 14:45, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for reverting the vandalism. He apparently doesn't like people reverting his vandalism on Deskana. O well. BTW, if you don't like the color of the New Messages bar, you can change it. I personally like the color. i said 03:05, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Oh my gosh I can change it!? Omg tell me how, please please! I really hate that color, it clashes with my user/talk page scheme! . (And no thanks needed, saw that guy, and now he's jumped to a new IP lol) ArielGold 03:10, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Try about six IP's :p. As for changing it, you do something to your Monobook.css. Ask Riana, she knows what the code is. i said 03:24, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Add some CSS code like below to User:ArielGold/monobook.css:

.usermessage { background-color: green; border: 2px solid red; }

Then when you've finished figure out how to bypass your cache to make the changes appear. Sebi [talk] 03:25, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Yeah I'm following along with the Yellow IP Road, I, lol. And thanks so much Sebi!! ArielGold 03:27, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
So how does he get so many IP's? Excuse my internet ignorance .i said 03:30, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
.css, not .js, because .js is for scripting, and .css is for styling and stuff. You can customise most things using .css. For example, I have my search bar floating in the same position, so when I scroll down a long page I don't have to scroll up to the top again to see the search bar. Sebi [talk] 03:31, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
I'd guess he's using a proxy of some sort to switch out IPs, or else he has an ISP that isn't a static IP. His IP is fairly consistent with the first set of numbers, so it makes me doubt it is a random proxy, but hey, I'm no expert either. lol. And thanks again Spebi! ArielGold 03:32, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Spebi's thanks

O! Thanks Ariel! :) The strangest thing was that your message didn't trigger the new messages bar... :S! Sebi [talk] 03:45, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Hee hee

Yeah, thanks for following that guy, what a psycho, huh? I figure, no point in warning him/her anymore, they just keep coming back as another IP. Keep it up, Peace, delldot talk 03:20, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

They're blocked now. Heh. At least that IP is. Anyway, yeah, very nice with the warning. Usually I'm the biggest advocate of giving friendly warnings, but in this case... Anyway, I'll be seeing you around with this guy I'm sure! delldot talk 03:26, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Heh, at least it's an entertaining night of vandal fighting! Have they gone to bed yet or what? delldot talk 03:39, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
He's starting to warn us now! How considerate of him. i said 03:42, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
lol, Keeping us on our toes, yes? Granted, there isn't much I can do, you are really on top of things, but I help out when I can. My slow-ish ISP doesn't help much, lol. You did an awesome job with all of that, are you going to wake up at 6am to see if the user keeps up his promise? ArielGold 03:44, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Mighty badger vandal? Who is that? i said 03:56, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Ohhhh this is a guy I ran into doing New User patrol, and he's just a persistent lil thing, creates multiple "Badger" names one after the other, it is actually semi-amusing, in that the names are fairly humorous at times, but ultimately, his aim is the same as this guy's. Let me see if I can dig a few up. Gimme a min ArielGold 04:03, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

You keep popping up everywhere

Which makes me ask, "Are you an administrator, because I need help with a particular subject." -- Matthew Edwards 04:09, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

She isn't, but she should be. i said 04:11, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
LOL thanks i Perhaps someday. Matthew, you can ask me, but if you need an administrator there are many great ones, and one of the best ways to find an active administrator is to go to this page: here, and see what names are active. The admins listed at the top will likely have been active within the last few minutes, so you can pop them a question and most likely they'll answer. Hope that helps! ArielGold 04:14, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the link. I asked at the helpdesk, too, which i seems to be helping me with :) -- Matthew Edwards 04:21, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
i is great. (Where else can you say that without feeling like you've made a heinous grammatical error? Gotta love I's name! ArielGold 04:24, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Eah. I dont like it so much now. I kinna want to change it. It gets confusing. i said 04:29, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
LOL But it is so great to be able to use in sentences that would normally be utterly egregious grammatical errors! Hee hee. Okay, it is easy to miss when linking, but other than that... i is cute! (snicker) ArielGold 04:30, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Dear Ariel

Dear Ariel, it's wonderful to see a friendly face like yours just as I drop by again - at times like these, being welcomed by a dear friend has a special value that cannot be told in words. I so owe you an email, and a long one to boot! And I'll honor that duty, I swear, but I simply couldn't go to sleep without thanking you warmly for beingthere. And for switching to another layout I originally designed! :) Looks like you do like my modest work, girl.. it's gret to have a fan of my designs ;) Love you tons, A girl. Phaedriel - 05:31, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Phaedriel!! I'm so very glad you're back, truly. I wanted to drop you more notes than the ones I did, or an email, but honestly I did not wish to intrude. Yes, I've changed my userpage yet again, lol. I got this layout from Template:Filefolder, I ran across it and decided to fiddle with it (took me over 2 days). Did you design that too? Wow! It is so cool, I like it much better, and I think I may actually stick with this design! I look forward to your email, as always, and I know that you will be amazingly busy catching up, but I hope things slow down enough for you to have a little fun, too! ~*Hugs*~, ArielGold 13:52, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Rack&label themes

I'm aware of the fact that you're very good at making things pretty (and seem to enjoy doing so), and that I've been doing most of the work on the rack & label themes. I'm not sure whether you want to create any themes or not, but if you do can I do anything to help?

BTW, I also replied above. Jakew 13:53, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Hee hee, yes I saw your reply above, and I like the category idea, but I think we'd need examples too, so I'll leave it up to you to decide. I'd probably say don't bother with the category thing, and while it might take a few extra minutes to alphabetize things, it isn't that big a deal. As for the design thing, you're obviously better at this template thing, so don't worry about it. ArielGold 14:00, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

You've warned me to not modify user page as I did in User:example. Isn't it a page for example? I deleted the hyperlink that directed to a commercial website. I thought it was a good reason. May you confirm your warning? Jeromeflipo 14:46, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Re:Residence labels

How about this: I'll do countries, US states, and Canadian provinces, and do cities on-demand. At the rate I'm doing them, it hardly takes any time at all to do one. (cut and paste, baby!) And, I thought you were sleeping! Are you sleep-editing? Love, Neranei (talk) 16:23, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

I've been up for hours. Oooops forgot to reset status! lol. There, I'm "awake" now! lol. Seriously though, I don't think you need to do all countries, lol. You realize how many there are? Thousands. We need major ones first, and do the rest on demand, or the page is just going to get unmanageable. As it is now, I'm considering re-doing the project page layout completely, going to sub pages for the categories, it is getting so long, lol. ArielGold 16:25, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
(ec)Nah, there are only a couple hundred countries, lol. She's awake!!! Sub-pages are a really good idea; I will re-work the North America section to only be major countries. I wonder how much demand there is for these things. Love, Neranei (talk) 16:31, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Honestly, I doubt much for anything other than major countries. The thing is, if someone doesn't want a messy page, and wants to keep things minimalist, they're not going to be wanting a ton of labels about irrelevant info, and really, where you live doesn't matter a whole lot lol. This is just my thinking, of course, but I honestly doubt we need all the African countries unless requested specifically. ArielGold 16:43, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Lol, very true. Well, I made them earlier this morning before this discussion, but you don't have to show them on the page; we can just point people who ask in the right direction. Love,Neranei (talk) 16:46, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
I'm not that worried about it, just don't want you to spend time making stuff maybe that will never be used, I mean, there are probably thousands of userboxes out there, we probably need to kind of think about what "minimalists" will want, lol. (Not being one myself, I'm not exactly the best person to consult, but I can imagine what it would be like if you didn't want any superfluous stuff on your userpage lol). ArielGold 16:51, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Heh, I'm no minimalist... my page is pretty complicated! Oh, and Phaedriel's back! Yay! Love, Neranei (talk) 16:56, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
P.S. Are you an admin? Love, Neranei (talk) 17:16, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Yeah I'm so happy Phae is back too! And nope, I'm not. ArielGold 17:17, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

By the way, thanks for the info on the Invisible Cabal, lol. Have you ever had an RfA? 'Cause, I'd be happy to nominate you if you want. And, (one more question ) can I call you Ari? Love, Neranei (talk) 17:20, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

No, I haven't, although others have brought up the issue to me several times. I'm not quite ready to go there yet, I honestly believe that admins need a firm knowledge of the infrastructure in most of the areas of Wikipedia, and while I realize you can never know everything, I think that I can benefit from learning more. Plus, I've never made any kind of "good article" or FA, as I'm more of a "WikiFairy", than a major writer of content (STS-118 being the exception). It seems that if you don't have a whole ton of GA/FA/DYK contribs, it may be more difficult for an RfA to pass. Kind of a problem, since I know a little about a lot, but not a lot about specific subjects (except those that I have a personal COI code with). As for what you want to call me, as long as you don't think I'm a guy, I don't care, lol. Ari, AG, whatever works. I guess my name is a guy's name in Israli more than it is a girl's, but I'm certainly no guy, lol. (No guy would use hearts and smileys and pictures all over like I do, .) ArielGold 17:29, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Hee hee hee, people think that I'm a guy a lot. (I'm not, lol.) You are an excellent WikiFairy, and I think that people would support an RfA for you, but I totally understand wanting to wait. (By the way, STS-118 is good!) Love, Neranei (talk) 17:31, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
(I'm back, I had to go write my weekly column for another site, lol) Thank you for your quite kind words, and on my userpage, I have the half-hour listings of active RfAs, so you can keep an eye on that, lol. If you request it, I can let you know when (if) I do decide, but really wouldn't do it without you requesting it, as that, to me at least, seems kind of like canvassing, even if I don't ask someone to comment in favor, and they've asked to be notified. I know it is okay to let those who ask to be made aware of it, but I still feel kinda funny about that, so I'd just hope those who know me watch things enough to know if/when it happens, lol. ArielGold 18:50, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
What site do you write for? (If you want to keep that private, that's OK. I understand.) I'd definitely appreciate being informed, but I hope that we'll be in contact so I'll know what's going on. Love, Neranei (talk) 18:54, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
I write for IGN, for over 4 years now. And as it is nothing imminent, we don't have to worry about it right now, lol. ArielGold 18:56, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
That's über cool! You're right. So, I am almost done with the Brazil ones and will be moving to the Canada ones shortly. I'm glad you told me about this project! Love, Neranei (talk) 19:11, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
LOL I'm glad you're enjoying it! ArielGold 19:13, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Such fun! Especially when vandal-fighting at the same time... Love, Neranei (talk) 19:18, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Please respect the biography I wrote in Maria Rivas Bio

I m Maria Rivas, and you are changing like in one trivial game my home page in wikipedia, tray to respect the individual work. M —Preceding unsigned comment added by Maria rivas (talkcontribs) 16:28, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

If you are indeed, María Rivas then not only are there the obvious copy/paste violations from the page you continue to paste from, http://www.ejn.it/mus/rivas.htm, but you also are going against the WP:COI guideline. As I have mentioned on your talk page, and I'll again mention by repeating this reply there, Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and I thoroughly explained how you could go about getting that material to the article: By asking on the article's talk page, explaining you are the subject, and therefore should not edit the article, include the information with proper sources, and allow a neutral third party editor to add the appropriate material. I'd strongly encourage you to review the core policies of Wikipedia. Thanks! ArielGold 16:33, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Re:Maria Rivas

At least we were edit warring over something that could actually damage wikipedia and not something very little and trivial. I wish this person would stop ignoring wikipedia policies because it's getting very tiring. Anyway they got blocked for 24 hours for edit warring and the like. I'm going to keep the article on my watchlist and keep an eye on it in case she returns as an IP or a different account. Any point on getting the page protected? It might help getting it protected for about a week and maybe she'll go away when she can't edit it and hopefully will forget about it for now. AngelOfSadness talk 16:57, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, I didn't want it to come to that, but that's not a policy that should be ignored, especially when it is a mass block of copy/pasted material like that. I've had the article watchlisted for a while (check talk page) and it has been an ongoing issue, but now there is the added issue of COI, so who knows. I don't think it would at this point, qualify for page protection, but we can both keep our eye on it. If she's really the subject, I doubt it will be forgotten, sadly. We'll see. Thanks for helping with it, though! ArielGold 17:01, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
No problemo. When I saw her edit and the link you provided, I just said "Is she serious?". Does she really believe that we(wikipedia) will accept copy/pasted content of that amount. It's like one of the most important policies of wikipedia and it's being broken by the subject of the article. She sure put up a fight to keep the content but stopped when I gave her the 3RR warning. Anyway I'll watch the article/talkpage like a hawk with binoculars for the next few days. AngelOfSadness talk 17:19, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Lol thanks dear! ArielGold 17:23, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

RE: Seeing me, seeing you

Mooo yourself! I have two GAs on the go (one a collaboration, one my own work when I totally re-wrote an existing stub) but unlike my FAs, these are not stressing me! I can't find another military history topic to write about and try to make into FA! There don't seem to be any in the requested articles that I can find much information on. My three so far are all in the stars on my user page if you want to click and go see. :) SGGH speak! 19:38, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Military anything is just sooo far out of my realm of understanding or interest, I would have no input to offer, lol. I have no GA / FA / DYK things . I guess I know a little about a lot, but not a bunch about one thing to make major edits (except stuff like STS-118 which would never get a GA status). That's great that you've got all of those to your credit, though, very nice! Me, I just do my WikiFairy thing, fixing refs, formatting pages, etc. ~*Shrug*~ ArielGold 19:43, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
  • formats Ariel* take that :) SGGH speak! 19:47, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Lol, silly SGGH! ArielGold 19:50, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Smile

Good job vandalfighting. I just edit conflicted with you on underoath. Hate that :) i said 03:06, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Hee hee hee, thanks, and yeah, I usually check the history to see if "my" reversion was the one that "got through", lol. I have a pretty slow ISP so while it is sitting there churning, someone else can sneak in and revert it, and I hate giving double warnings, lol.

Message for 3rd warning

This is great! [1] Love the 3D smiley. Much nicer than our usual test3 warning. -- Samir 04:00, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

hee hee, I have a whole ton of them, you can find them all here if you want to see them. And thanks! ArielGold 04:01, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Question

Our crossing-of-paths got me looking around your user pages, and I like your smiley's style. I came across something on your main page that looks very familiar as a type of code, but for the life of me I cannot recall exactly what it's called, nor how to translate:

GH/MD/P/SS d-(--) s-:-- a C+++>$ !UC-- P? L !E W++(+++) !N !o !K w+ !O- !M- !V PS- PE- Y+ PGP++
t++(+++)@ !5- X++(+++) !R-* tv++(+++)@ b+++(++++)@ DI-- !D--- G+ e+++>++++ h r x-

Can you enlighten me? I'm kinda tired of editing radio categories tonight, and that looks like something interesting to kill some time reading up on. Thanks! JPG-GR 04:56, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Hee hee hee here ya go. (I'm sure there are translation sites out there too for strings, but I don't know one offhand) ArielGold 05:05, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Ah, yes. Much thanks. Take care! JPG-GR 05:08, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Just a note

You said here that removing warning tags from your talk page is disallowed, and considered vandalism. Actually, it isn't. We have no obligation to keep them on our pages. I just thought I'd let you know.

As a side note, you just missed a great vandal. Moved all kinds of pages. Very confusing. Anyways :D i said 07:22, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

LOL Where was I? I was here! How'd I miss that, sheesh, lol. Replied with links to the warning removal thingie on your talk page. ArielGold 07:32, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Hm. It appears there is conflicting opinion on the matter. WP:USER#Removal_of_warnings says you may remove, but Misza, and other admins you said you spoke to disagree. I guess I might ask around, but it's not a huge deal. i said 07:38, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Uri Nesane! Brother of Lorraine Nesane? (search the text, its there lol). But, You're Insane is pretty good too, lol. Did that name get blocked? I'd think it would. Okay, bedtime for Ariel, she's sleeeepy! Night night! ArielGold 08:22, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Nesane is a surname! This gets weirder and funnier. I totally made up Urinesane, but I bet it would get blocked :) Thanks for giving me a good hearty Wikilaugh tonight! I've seen you around and always thought you seemed very sweet. I'm glad we chatted. Good night and sweet dreams! Eliz81(talk)(contribs) 08:28, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Hee hee thank you, I shall hope to dream of handsome princes come to carry me away on a white horse... (hooo boy who are we kidding?). And, yes, lol, Nesane is a surname. The world just gets stranger and stranger, doesn't it? Don't be a stranger! ArielGold 08:31, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Dear editor, I honestly am not sure what you're referring to, I'm sorry, you'll need to be more specific. I don't recall anything about a page called Save the Queen? And I have not added anything to any pages recently, so I'm frankly, quite confused as to what article you may be referring to or what the problem may be. I'm sorry. If you can link to a page difference to show what you mean, that would really help! Cheers, ArielGold 15:31, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
I think they are referring to the Maria Rivas article(judging by their contribution history). AngelOfSadness talk 15:33, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Oh, well, I did nothing except remove copyright violations. The content of the article was not changed. Information must not be copied and pasted from other sites, so as long as you don't violate that policy, then add to the article to your heart's content! Cheers (Thanks Angel!) ArielGold 15:58, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Female symbol

Hey Ari! I noticed your new female symbol, and it is awesome! May I use it on my page? I am often mistaken for a guy, too. Hope all is well! Love, Neranei (talk) 20:13, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

LOL You don't have to ask! Of course you can use it! Want me to stick it on your page or can you figure out the placement? ArielGold 20:14, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Honest to God I have no idea how to do it, lol. I seem to have problems with placing things on my userpage! It makes me all confuzzled 0_o.Thank you! Hopefully it will clear up some of the confusion... Love, Neranei (talk) 20:20, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
LOL I'll take care of it, do you want it on your talk page as well? ArielGold 20:21, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
That would be lovely, thank you so much! You are wonderful. Back to KIS! Love, Neranei (talk) 20:26, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Done. Both. Enjoy! ArielGold 20:26, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Ooh! It looks great! Thanks! Love,Neranei (talk) 20:45, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Talk Page Madness

I'll try to keep that in mind. :) I've often times get confused because everyone (see everyone for more information) has a different answer. :P I've not met any two people who've given me the same answer. At one point I just shook my head and said, "I'll let them do whatever the hell they want with their talk pages. Someone else'll know better than me." 99% of the time I avoid situations like that but once in a while I step in. Usually at this point, as I said on DerHexer's talk page, I've usually just resorted to trying to preserve IP warnings. I'll try and work with your criterion on this though. :) Only other time I'll revert is when whatever account changes it into something insulting. (I have nothing against homosexuality, but I would rather not (for example) have a user change their warnings on their page to a confession of me/others being gay.) :P Thanks again and cheers! -WarthogDemon 21:58, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Well in general, my comments are regarding IP/Anon users. Although there are times when a username is created for destructive reasons only, and in that case, the same "rules" would apply, in my opinion. The reason nobody can agree, is that there is no policy on it. I think there should be a policy of some sorts, to clarify it, but then again, WP:SENSE seems to apply. When the user is blanking recent notices/warnings that are needed to evaluate the activity, it is valid those blankings be reverted. But by no means am I telling you what to do, obviously that's your choice, and you're right, chances are if appropriate, they'll be reinstated by others. P.S. Good to talk to you again! ArielGold 21:59, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Common sense is a good thing, yep yep. :) Glad you're doing well. If I may, however, give you some advice: when you link to talk page sections, the links become obsolete the moment they get archived. To preserve them, it's better to go in the history and link it from there, such as in this case: [2]. Or if I'm telling you something you already know, my bad. :P Anyways, happy editing! :) (PS, thank you for reverting that one pokemon page too way back. I forget which one it was but I saw you.) ;) -WarthogDemon 22:07, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Yeah I did know that, and you can also make a perm link to link to instead of linking to the diff. But in this case, it isn't like you'll care later when I archive it lol. And, I don't like how external links look so I avoid them if I can, lol (girlie thing, forgive me). ArielGold 22:10, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
We all have our Wikipedia quirks. :) The thing I can't stand are the hideous _ in links. :P -WarthogDemon 22:12, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Oh jeez me too! Take a look at my bookmarks (menu bar at the top), that had so many of them it drove me nuts, so I spent an hour one day taking them all out, lol. (No we're not Type A, nope!) ArielGold 22:13, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Maybe you'd like this userbox then: {{User underscore}}. I noticed you don't have it. :D -WarthogDemon 22:18, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
LOL Does such a box exist? Omg I could have fun making that one if it doesn't! ArielGold 22:20, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
It does. I just used the <nowiki></nowiki> code on it so it wouldn't disrupt the talk page flow. :) -WarthogDemon 22:22, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Or you can just do this {{User underscore}} Hrmm, yeah I could do a better (prettier) box than that! lol. ArielGold 22:26, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

._. for the winz! (Okay I need to stop using this as a talk page forum.) :P =) -WarthogDemon 22:28, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

RE:Squid Guy!

No, I hadn't. Thanks! I've never had tea before... :-) Happy editing! Yours sincerely, The Squid Guy 22:09, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Hee hee, thought you might like to see that. That's a nice little corner of Wikipedia. ArielGold 22:10, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

If you've got some time...

Hi Ariel, thanks for showing me the icon you made. I must say, between your smileys and nicely designed userpages, I'm quite impressed at your design skills. If I may request, would you mind styling up my user page and talk page? I'm not so gifted in this sort of thing, I want some sort of blue motif and nice borders. And fun top righthand corner icons are always good too. I like cats and food, for what that's worth. I totally understand if you're too busy, but I wanted to put it out there. :) Keep on rockin', design queen! Eliz81(talk)(contribs) 22:14, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Ohhhh I'd love to!! YAY! I did Jake's page, if you want to see his. (He's a minimalist, lol) —Preceding unsigned comment added by ArielGold (talkcontribs)
hop hop hop!! I was hoping you'd want to get busy in the unpretty muck of my userpage :) Seriously, go to town. I have no aesthetic gifts :) I do like one thing... boxes with rounded corners. I'm so grateful you're willing to do this! Thanks a ton in advance Ariel. Eliz81(talk)(contribs) 22:27, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Working on it as I speak, if you want to check up on how it is going to look, and tell me what you hate/like/want, it is going to be at User:ArielGold/sandbox2. ArielGold 22:29, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
OMG this is so exciting! Like my own TLC redesign show! :) Eliz81(talk)(contribs) 22:33, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
I'll just fiddle with the word-content directly in the sandbox, since I wanted to restructure some of it anyway. And I can put design ideas in the talk page, I know I can't put them in to save my life! Woohoo Eliz81(talk)(contribs) 22:37, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
If you want to put the text on the talk page of the sandbox that's fine too. ArielGold 22:39, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Yeah especially to avoid edit conflicts... good idea. Eliz81(talk)(contribs) 22:43, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Thank you :)

The Graphic Designer Barnstar
For redesigning my user and user talk pages, you put so much time and effort in, and I really appreciate your help and talent! Eliz81(talk)(contribs) 02:27, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Aww, thanks so much, it was fun! There are a few things to tweak still, but I'll fix them when I figure out what the problem is lol. Thank you so much for asking me, I really like doing this stuff, especially when you're happy with the result! ArielGold 02:36, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Some of the design I didn't even anticipate originally, and I'm so pleased with how it turned out. Now, off to protect it from snippy vandals... :) Eliz81(talk)(contribs) 02:39, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
And the new and improved me! ~Eliz81(C) 04:19, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
I like it!!! Very pretty, and it fits you so much better! ArielGold 04:20, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Hey, I commented on your etiquette essay, which is very thoughtful and detailed. Let me know what you think! :) ~Eliz81(C) 05:12, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Re:More girlie stuff!

Oh I like it. A few editors(mostly sockpuppets and vandals) have called me dude, man and buddy. You'd think they'd see that my userpage infobox says that I'm a female. Anyway I'd love to add something similar to my userpage so they(the few editors) have no excuse for calling me such names. AngelOfSadness talk 16:11, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

I love it. I think I will put it on the talkpage aswell just so other editors get the message in case they didn't see it on my userpage. And now there's no excuse for them thinking otherwise. Thank you so much. You really have a flair for graphic design. AngelOfSadness talk 16:27, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks I was just about to fix the symbols position but you got ahead of me. You are one speedy editor. And now I have just found inspiration to make a userbox which I don't think is in existance yet(it's currently encaptured in my head). AngelOfSadness talk 16:37, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
I've just made {{User:AngelOfSadness/Custom Userboxes/LightningRevert}} this userbox. Check it out if you want and feedback would be most welcome. :D AngelOfSadness talk 17:29, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Don't worry I didn't :D. The colors were driving me mad. I was thinking the same about the pink in the text but when I changed it, it wouldn't match with the image or the border colour. I'll try out your suggestion with the text. I originally had "this user reverts vandalism at the speed of light" so I'm guessing that's why I forgot to eliminate the "the". My mind works faster than my hands at typing so I could be thinking one thing while editing something else and managed to forget about the "the". Thanks for pointing it out. It might have been six months before I noticed that it was wrong. AngelOfSadness talk 18:02, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Sure go right ahead and edit it. The more I try and fix it the more frustrated I get. Strange how I can get so worked up over something so small. :D AngelOfSadness talk 18:14, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Oh that's a nice one. I really like the picture. It's like a giant ball of fire or something :D. Like I said before, you really have a flair for this kind of stuff. AngelOfSadness talk 18:22, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Hello

How are you today? Wonderful? Excellent. I would like to ask you a question, are you an admin/custodian? Also, I read this: "...I hope that in the future, while I may not be memorable, I'll at least be remembered as having helped in small ways, to what I envision as a repository of knowledge for the future." - Oh, stop you! Of course you'll be remembered :-) Take care, friend. ScarianTalk 16:33, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

What a wonderfully kind thing of you to say, and it is deeply appreciated! Alas, I am not an administrator, but I have many good and wonderful friends who are if you need help. However, if you need urgent attention with something, Special:Ipblocklist this page will show you the current active administrators, and many times, dropping them a note on their talk page will get a response. I hope that helps, and again, thank you so much for the kind words and your wonderful message! ArielGold 16:39, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
I'm having a shitty day but please ignore my language! The reason I asked was because (And I understand that possibly many people have asked before) I was going to ask if you wanted to be one? Take care of yourself, friend. ScarianTalk 18:08, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Ahhh, well it is definitely, as you mentioned, something that's been brought up before. We shall see what the future holds only with the passage of time, but it is something I'd consider in the future. Again I really appreciate your kind words, and your support! That means a lot to me, especially as we've never met, your opinion as a neutral observer is most respected. ArielGold 18:11, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Userbox

You once mentioned you can make userboxes. If you wanted I did have an idea for one: a userbox that says you clicked on Random Article and it selected an article you started. (Has happened to me.) =) -WarthogDemon 17:42, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

LOL omg that's funny, and chances are, pretty rare. I'll make you one! What color scheme do you want? ArielGold 17:51, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Ooh I like them both, especially the dice one! ^__^ Heh, yeah it was amazing that I did it. =O I estimate the chances of that happening at the time was about 25 in 1.95 million... and it was the first time I clicked the Random Page button that one morning too! =) -WarthogDemon 20:48, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Hee hee, I'm happy that you like them, and having a choice is nice, so that's why I made two. That is pretty wild, did you buy a lottery ticket that day? lol ArielGold 20:52, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
No but I wish I had. D: And I shall try the signatures. Usually I don't like how messy they can be in the page edits. =O Let us hope Shadowbot likes 'em. Thankies. My favorite color is red but I love the blue here. :) -[[user:WarthogDemon|<font color="960018" face="Arial">'''Warthog'''</font>[[User_talk:WarthogDemon|<font color="CC5500" face="Arial">'''Demon'''</font>]]]] 21:26, 4 September 2007 (UTC) Let me strike out that garbage so your page doesn't look messy. :) -WarthogDemon 21:52, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
It's a garbled mess. :( -WarthogDemon 21:28, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
It now works... not sure what happened. =O -WarthogDemon 21:33, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Pretty!!! I like it a lot! ArielGold 21:37, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi Ariel,

I replied earlier to your questions but no reply. Am I doing this all wrong? Im a first-time user/contributor. Sten Odenwald —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.66.100.141 (talk) 21:01, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi again Sten, I have kept my eye on all the pages, I don't see where you replied on your talk page, and this IP you're on has no other edits, and the article's talk page has no activity, so if you can point me to where you replied, I'll drop a note on your username talk page. Thanks! ArielGold 21:06, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Re: Awww

You're welcome, but how on earth did you see it? Are you stalking me?!?! lol SGGH speak! 21:23, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

You betcha, babe! (I have your page on watched list just in case, lol) ArielGold 21:25, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Remember me? I just had another edit conflict with you, this time on Saturn. We have to stop meeting like this!--Diniz (talk) 22:05, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

LOL I saw that too, but you still beat me! Those long articles just choke my browser for some reason, lol. ArielGold 22:06, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

boo!

what's cookin good lookin? :)

this looks way less sketchy if i sign it. ~Eliz81(C) 02:16, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
EEEEK!!!! You scareded me! lol. (I knew it was you, lol. The edit showed up in the program I monitor with). I fixed a little issue on your userpage, that I bet you didn't notice, lol. I did, though and it was bugging me, so I asked a friend of mine to peek at my sandbox, and tell me how to fix it lol. How was your day? ArielGold 02:17, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
BOO! heh heh Ooo you underestimate me, I saw that you'd changed the sandbox, my actual userpage, and contacted the Transhumanist! BOOYAH! :P Thanks for fixing that formatting thing up. I showed my friends my userpage b/c it's so purdy. And it's protected from naughty vandals too :) My day has been relatively Wikipedia-free except creating an article. I've had a good day in real world land, but I'm so sad the Netflix site is down *sniff*. How about you? :) ~Eliz81(C) 02:25, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
LOL Well that little issue was bugging me, I think I mentioned it on the sandbox or your talk page, and those kinds of things are really hard to track down (for me anyway), so I went to Transhumanist, who had fixed a similar issue I had with my page, and sure enough, TH came through! I'm sure nobody would have noticed it, but I did, and it bugged me lol. I have 5 Netflix movies sitting here that I need to watch, lol. It is just if I'm on WP I tend to tune other stuff out, so I don't want to miss them, and at the same time, I can't sit that long to sit and do nothing, watching a movie, lmao. And yeah the site is down, odd. Should come up soon I bet, they've never been down for long, lol. ArielGold 02:29, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
You're a big renter! 5 at a time? That's some dedication. Yeah I have trouble sitting still too... I've been going for tv shows a lot more than movies because of that. Short n snappy :) ~Eliz81(C) 02:45, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
Yeah that's what I do a lot, but then I didn't have TV for like, 7-8 years, so a lot of the shows out there are "new" to me, lol ArielGold 02:49, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
I never watch live tv anymore, the commercials drive me insane. They kind of yell sometimes, and especially b/c they try to promote a lifestyle/look that is not achievable to the normal human. I like uninterrupted story lines too. So netflix is my cable :) ~Eliz81(C) 02:53, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
clawing at the walls' netflix is still down!! man if that and wikipedia crashed what would i do with myself? go outside? :) ~Eliz81(C) 03:36, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
What is this "outside" you speak of? ArielGold 03:37, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
I don't know, but I hear it has a lot of green in it! ~Eliz81(C) 03:44, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Eh, my eyes are green. If I want to see green, I just look in the mirror! ArielGold 03:48, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Article you might be interested in?

I miss our long chats, but as I know you're busy with school, I've refrained myself from bothering you too much! ArielGold 03:25, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
All is well actually, thank you! I'm currently just typing a paper, reading a book, and fiddling around on Wikipedia a little too much lol. Routine is decent, but I do like being back in school after nearly a year off. What's new in the world of Ariel? Jmlk17 03:36, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Well, let's see, I created a brand new userpage for User:Eliz81, which she loved, and it was selected by The Transhumanist to be added to the Hall of Userpage Fame, so I guess that is something new. I'm a little sad that my own page is not good enough to be put there, but such is life, lol. I think that is about the extent of "newness" with me, lol. ArielGold 03:40, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Ooo looks very nice! Good job! Jmlk17 03:45, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks dear. Oh, and I hit 9000 edits this morning, I guess that's somewhat worthy of a mention, lol. ArielGold 03:46, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
I'm approaching 17,500 lol. Jmlk17 03:51, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Holy wow! LOL I have a long way to go to catch you, yes? ArielGold 03:53, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
All in a day's work for AG... :) Get 10000 woot woot! (btw how did you get 5000 edits in over a month, holy moly! a record?) ~Eliz81(C) 06:00, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Eh, not so bad really :). There are a bunch of people with 5, 6, 7+ times as many edits as myself. I just don't have the time, patience, or anything for that though. Jmlk17 04:00, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Hee hee, well I certainly have the time, so we'll see, lol. ArielGold 04:11, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
I seriously doubt it is a record of any kind, Eliz, there are people with 100k edits out there. I don't really think edit count is that important, I mean, at least 1000 of mine are to user pages for layout, or to my personal "reference" page, so I don't think it really means a whole lot. But still, I like nice round numbers, so 10k will be a nice change, lol. ArielGold 06:03, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
But it was so fast! Yeah 10k just sounds nice. 17.5K, even better! Who's first to infinity? :) ~Eliz81(C) 06:06, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
LOL well if you average it out over the 2+ years I've been here, it wouldn't be much. But just lately since I retired, I have nothing but time on my hands, so hey, lol. ArielGold 06:08, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
We're glad you chose to spend your time with us :) ~Eliz81(C) 06:10, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Awww, that is really so nice of you to say, and really needed to hear. Thank you, seriously. ArielGold 06:12, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Hear hear!!! Jmlk17 09:00, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Advice

Any ideas on how this one can be solved? [3] I don't know whether to warn him or just ignore it, but I do believe both of them are constructive in their own little way's. But don't wish to "feed him", per se. Thanks in advance! ScarianTalk 12:58, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Personally, I wouldn't have posted your original message, and I'd have removed his post altogether. That message from the user was them basically saying "F off" to you, and as such, not a helpful or constructive message, and you don't need to respond or keep it on your page, unless you choose to. As for how to handle rude edit summaries, I think you did fine, although I would refrain from repeating the summary itself, instead just refer to it, saying "Your edit summary here was unhelpful" with the link. Of course, this is just my personal opinion, there are some people who may leave those comments on their talk pages, and simply respond with a link to explain to other readers why the comment was left. It is entirely up to you and your personal style. Hope that helped somewhat, ArielGold 17:24, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for your response. I'm a pretty vocal person so I didn't think it was right of him to refer to us, collectively, as "bitches" - and I wanted to say something about it. But, okay, I'll follow your advice, as a more experienced user [And a former Sysop with experience of dealing with these 'sorts' of people!], and just ignore it. Hooah! Thanks, have a nice day too! ScarianTalk 17:31, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Everyone has their own personality, and if you feel you'd like to respond to all comments on your talk page, then feel free to do that. My "way" of dealing with things of this nature is not to say it is the "right" or "wrong" way, we're all different, and everyone deals with this kind of thing differently, so while that's how I'd personally do it, it is by no means, my saying you should do things that way. The one thing I'd not suggest doing is repeating the edit summaries, simply because you can link to it, refer to it, and in severe cases, you would probably not want to repeat some of the things people write there, lol. ArielGold 17:40, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
I won't and I shan't reply to his reply :-) - And I appreciate your way of doing things, honest. Our "different methods", don't actually differ that much. And I don't mind about having profanity on my talk page ;-) - Ab absurdo! - Keep yourself well, friend. [By the by, I keep reading "I have plenty of time on my hands" and I also read "I have retired". You don't seem to be near the average retired age? - Sorry if I am prying!] ScarianTalk 18:42, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Hee hee, well, lets put it this way, I retired before 40, but some days I feel like I'm still in my 20s, and probably type that way, as well. ArielGold 18:50, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Actually the proper term is "beeyatches". There's even a, ahem, barnstar for that....;)Dreadstar 18:56, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Oh my gosh, too funny! ArielGold 18:57, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Nice page

You've been added to the User page hall of fame. And I've placed your and Eliz's menus here as a resource for others. The Transhumanist 18:28, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

That is so wonderful of you to do, TH! Thank you! I love the menu gallery, that is just excellent for other people to use, what a great thing! Of course, I think your entire project to help others design pages is excellent, and I often refer people to your page. Thanks again! ArielGold 18:54, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
applause wtg Ariel!!! :) I knew it was coming. Congratulations! ~Eliz81(C) 22:52, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Re: UAA

It is *pants* are you always on here? Wherever I go I see you in the recent history somewhere. Maybe my subconcious made you up? SGGH speak! 21:22, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Hee hee, I sleep, just not predictably! lol. I saw you were getting run ragged over there, so I thought I'd just send you a little pick-me-up, lol. Don't work those fingers to the bone! ArielGold 21:26, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Come 7pm tomorrow night (GMT) I'll be a police officer in real life, and it suprises me how much of wikipedia admin-ing is similar to policing *rolls eyes* oh yeah, what is the wazoo? SGGH speak! 21:29, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Wow, congratulations, but be careful! Scary job sometimes! And yep, not only similar to policing, but also to babysitting, lol. I had the same feelings as an admin at MSN Gaming Network for years, lol. ArielGold 21:32, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
