State Route 802 (SR 802), also known as the Williams Gateway Freeway, is a planned freeway in the extreme southeastern region of the Phoenix Metropolitan Area.

It will start at Loop 202 Santan Freeway near the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport and its eastern terminus will eventually be either at US 60 southeast of Gold Canyon or SR 79 south of Florence Junction. It is planned as a controlled-access freeway to move traffic from the eastern suburbs of Phoenix to planned ones in western Pinal County.

In November 2004, voters in Maricopa County approved an extension to an existing sales tax funding transportation improvements. A portion of those funds will go toward improvements of new and existing freeways, which experience significant volumes of traffic in parts of the Phoenix Metropolitan Area.

Although no construction has begun for the route, planning documents have identified a study area running east of Loop 202 to US 60 through largely undeveloped land.

Construction is not anticipated to begin before 2016 according to current ADOT planning documents, and is to be completed sometime before 2020, although the lengthy process of studies and public input required prior to construction has begun. ADOT has already started acquiring right-of-way for segments of the planned freeway in areas where only one potential alignment exists, especially land to the north and east of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport.

The Maricopa County portion is already funded through the transportation sales tax extension approved by voters om 2004. The Pinal County portion is currently unfunded and runs entirely within state land, part of the Superstition Vistas project.^[1]
