Aristolochene

Aristolochene is a bicyclic sesquiterpene molecule produced by certain fungi including the cheese mould Penicillium roqueforti. It is synthesised by aristolochene synthase, and is the parent hydrocarbon of a large variety of fungal toxins [1].
