Aristóbulo Istúriz is a Venezuelan politician. He was a member of the political party, Radical Cause, before joining Homeland for All (Patria Para Todos, PPT). He was elected mayor of the Libertador Municipality of Caracas on December 6, 1992, a position he would remain in until January 2, 1996. He is currently the Minister of Education in the government of Hugo Chávez. On January 5, 2007, it was announced that Chávez's brother, Adán Chávez, will replace Istúriz as Minister of Education. It is unknown at present time what will became of Istúriz.
