Arighi Bianchi
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Arighi Bianchi is a furniture shop in the town of Macclesfield in Cheshire, England. It was founded in 1854 by Italian immigrants Antonio Arighi and Antonio Bianchi who originated from the village of Casnate on the shores of Lago di Como.
The grade II* listed building[1], with a cast iron and glass frontage, is a local landmark close to Macclesfield Station and adjacent to Tesco. It is notable for being saved from demolition in the year 1973 after a long running and vociferous campaign.[citation needed]
