Arida (有田市 Arida-shi?) is a city in Wakayama, Japan. As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 33,073 and a density of 896.04 persons per km². The total area is 36.91 km². The city was founded on May 1, 1956 following the merger of Minoshima, Miyazaki, Yasuda and Miahara. The main industries in the city include refining and fishing. In addition, Arida is one of the largest producers of mandarins in Wakayama Prefecture.
