Arico is the name of a municipality, town, and valley in the southeastern part of the island of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands, and part Santa Cruz de Tenerife (province). The municipality is located in the southeastern end of the island, and extends for 178,76 square kilometers from the mountainous interior to the beaches on the Atlantic. Arico is on a valley setting. Its estimated population is 6.928. Arico is linked with the TF1 Motorway and also with the old TF28 linking Los Cristianos and Santa Cruz de Tenerife (City) Its economy are tourism and some agriculture. The urban area and some farmlands dominates the coastline and valley areas, while the mountains dominates much of the municipality and to the southeast.
