Ari is a comune and town in the Province of Chieti in the Abruzzo region of Italy.Ari is a very small town, built on a ridge between the two small rivers Valle Cupa and Turri. It is surrounded by orchards and vineyards, and is famous for it’s large production of wine.[1] The noble Orsini family of Lanciano (ancient Anxanum) dominated this small town. The first historical mention of the town was in reference to its church San Pietro di Ari which belonged to the monastery of San Liberatore a Majella.
