Argyre

In Greek and Roman mythology, Argyre was a mythical island of silver, located in the east. The name comes from the Greek argyros (silver).
Research has shown that the island known as Argyre is the ancient kingdom of Salakanagara in the westernmost part of Java. The people are ancient Sundanese, closely related but not of the same ethnic Javanese group inhabiting the central and eastern part of the island.
