Argeliers is a commune in the Aude department in Languedoc-Roussillon, southwestern France.[1] Located to the southern edge of the Haut-Minervois and in the north of the fertile sedimentary plain of Narbonne, Argeliers is bordered to the east by the Canal du Midi where there are mooring facilities known as Port d'Argeliers. Its inhabitants are known as Argeliésois.

- Marcelin Albert, leader of the 1907 Languedoc wine-makers uprising, was born in 1851 in Argeliers.[2] He died in 1921 and is buried in the cemetery in the village. A village square is named in his honour.
- Max Roqueta a famous contemporary Occitan writer, was born in Argeliers in 1908.
